April 17, 201511 yr Author You know this product exists already right? and it's completely free? Can't be bothered about polluting the sim and dragging performance down with FS9 models again. That's odd, at 40% about 90% of my airport gates are full. Yup noticed that too (pretty wild how many flights were being culled by Traffic Manager!). I ended dropping down to 25%.
April 17, 201511 yr Moderator You know this product exists already right? and it's completely free? It's worth the price. Perhaps, I should have said a "quality AI program". Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
April 17, 201511 yr pretty wild how many flights were being culled by Traffic Manager! Traffic Manager has an option to preserve all AI Traffic at the two airports in a user's flight plan.

April 17, 201511 yr Moderator Cheer up Vic, there's always MyTraffic 7 to look forward to. Don't need cheering - I am perfectly happy with MyT6 and the beautiful AI a/c that populate my P3D. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
April 17, 201511 yr My Traffic Pro 6 is the best AI Package out there. But that's just it Jay, it isn't is it? I'll come clean. I was really looking forward to this one. It appeared to have been delayed quite a bit, but it was touted as some kind of "second coming" of FSX AI Addons and not only that, but the first native P3D AI Addon. I was *really* looking forward to it. In the meantime, I experimented a bit with the freeware addon, so by the time MT6 was released I thought I'd sit back and wait for some reviews to come in before pulling the trigger on the sale price. (for once!) Someone posted a screenshot of the UI in this thread and it was a mess, I noticed the 'historic schedules' though and thought that was a nice touch. Then someone else (I think it was actually you Jay) posted a screenshot comparison between a MT6 livery and an FAIB livery, the payware option being far inferior. Then came all the complaints regarding manually editing config files (couldn't the developer handle this in the installer of a paid-for addon?) it seemed to have been solved with a cursory glance of the manual. but still. Then complaints about the flight schedules themselves. It seems the developer spun a globe round with his eyes closed and whatever airport his finger landed on he added it next in the flightplan, just to make the AI 'world' seem busier. And then, came the endless defence of the developer. The way some people excused the models/liveries/paints/UI/config editing and schedules made it sound like he was a personal family member. "he's just one guy!", "you only use the UI once!", "no one cares about flightplans in an AI addon!" (that was a good one), "It's only 20 bucks, what do you expect?!" To top it all off, 90% of the posts in this thread are not exactly singing the praises of MT6, most of the posts are paying customers providing customer support for other paying customers. Where's Burkhard in all of this? I realise he probably has enough on his plate with support questions over on his own forum, but I don't see him coming to AVSIM to defend his own product and help people out. (like all the other *quality* developers do) At the end of the day, as we've said before 'if you're happy with it, you're happy with it' but don't make excuses for a developer of a payware product. A *great* developer would hire a UI designer if he couldn't design a UI, he would also hire a documentation writer if his documentation skills are lacking (refer to actual *good* developers for examples) and what's the point in adding 'historical schedules' if the current ones aren't even accurate? We should all be coming together and protecting this hobby that we love, if we all start making concessions and throwing money at sub-standard products then our standards will continue to drop. April 17, 201511 yr Where's Burkhard in all of this? I realise he probably has enough on his plate with support questions over on his own forum, but I don't see him coming to AVSIM to defend his own product and help people out. (like all the other *quality* developers do) This cuts both ways, of course. Why not go over to his forum and tell him directly what you think of his product, like all the other *quality* users do? "no one cares about flightplans in an AI addon!" (that was a good one), I don't care about flightplans in an AI add-on. it was touted as some kind of "second coming" of FSX AI Addons and not only that, but the first native P3D AI Addon. I was *really* looking forward to it. Perhaps your expectations were unrealistically high? A *great* developer would hire a UI designer if he couldn't design a UI, A *great* user would cut a one-man shop some slack. We should all be coming together and protecting this hobby that we love Good idea - why not do that instead of bashing a dedicated developer with a long track record, just because his product doesn't suit your personal tastes? Not to mention bashing the users who like the product better than you do. Or is it just that we're all naive and have been sitting here idly waiting to be roused by some form of consumer-advocacy evangelism. Or maybe it's just inexperienced irritability masquerading as such. Yesterday, in response to one of your posts, I posted something, then deleted it. I'll repost it now: I'm amazed that anybody bothers developing anything for this crowd. Over and out. Alan Ampolsk"Ah, Paula, they are firing at me!"-- Saint-Exupery

April 18, 201511 yr Hate to interrupt this pissing contest but here's a question (I'm going to leave this off of the official MT forum for now; it may be obvious why...). I'll try to keep this brief... Just got MT6. It seems to fit the bill and the installation was easy if you bother to RTFM. There's actually some logic to the fact that B. Renk has the end-user do the set up. Anyway, models look similar to MT5.4 however, like some others, I seem to be getting more of a performance hit with 6 than I did with 5.4 (this is all in P3Dv2.5). No scientific comparison, just a hunch. So, popped ModelConverter X open and I have the batch converter sitting here staring me right in my face. Won't just be as simple as hitting "process" but, before I embark on that, does anyone here know if that would be worth the effort? Can't help but think that running all of the models through the P3Dv2.5 SDK compiler would help... Thoughts? Greg Montey "Because with great power, comes great responsitriligence..."
April 18, 201511 yr Then came all the complaints regarding manually editing config files (couldn't the developer handle this in the installer of a paid-for addon?) He does and quite elegantly too, even provides an automated editor, but if folks insist on not reading the install instructions what can he do ? I'll come clean. I was really looking forward to this one. It appeared to have been delayed quite a bit, but it was touted as some kind of "second coming" of FSX AI Addons and not only that, but the first native P3D AI Addon. Come clean? behave yourself, you have been knocking MyTraffic from day one Either buy it and make your own mind up or just don't bother posting about an addon you have no intention of using, I am starting to think this is a bit of an agenda going on here.. As you have not even tried MY6 you really can not contribute anything meaningful to any discussion about the product. Your loss really, stay with the freeware stuff,
April 18, 201511 yr Could we somehow get background/ambient airport noises in an updated release? I would love to be able to free roam around the airport and listen to the sound of the engines and ambient airport noises. Would definitely make the experience better. April 18, 201511 yr Well we are all getting our knickers in a twist aren't we. Read the manual and you will have it installed within 2-3 mins, if your having problems read this line again. ofc it would be better if it was automated for people that cannot be bothered to read hence the countless replies above from them very people. Once installed I see no reason to open the configuration again. To me what I like about it, at airports I know, it placers the right carriers at the right placers/gates. That to me is a great feeling of realism. It fills my airports up at 20% (30% for huge airports) to a great level and on route the sky's feel alive. That's all I ask from a product and MY6 does a great job of this. If you enjoy another product great ..if it works for you then we are all happy.
