April 23, 201511 yr Did you install and run the freeware Air Traffic Manager app? +1 really good little program. Has enabled me to fly over LAX at 2000ft with maxxed autogen trees/buildings and full AI at the stands without P3D grinding to a halt. Despite fps 23-30 it doesn't stutter or pause. Unlike FSX. Another good reason to move to P3D. Chillblast Core i5 14600KF Liquid Cooled RTX 4070 SUPER 32GB RAM. Internet: 1 Gig Fibre. HoneyComb Throttle & Flight System. UK PPL since 2006 current on PA-28, C-152, C172, Decathlon, C-42 based at EGHP.
April 23, 201511 yr Unfortunately, I would be surprised if LM spends any time fine tuning the AI traffic component of P3d. It just doesn't seem like that's a prime concern to them. Thus, the options are to either use no AI traffic, or use an AI traffic add-on with the Air Traffic Manager.
April 24, 201511 yr Yes I did install the Air Traffic Manager, and it did make the FPS better, but it did not after several runs and tweaks alleviate the stutters. I even rolled backed my Vid Driver thinking that maybe that might be a problem, nope! Plus after I got to thinking about it, why should I have to install a piece of freeware software that fixes and corrects a payware program? If they make a change to MyTraffic for the batter I will give it a shot again, or maybe Traffic360 will come out with a new version that is more user friendly.
April 24, 201511 yr maybe Traffic360 will come out with a new version that is more user friendly. If Traffic360 produces the same number of Ai as MyTraffic your results will be the same. You cannot get a quart into a pint pot no matter how hard you try. Turn down the Traffic slider, make sure that the default traffic.bgl is disabled and turn off the exits in MyTraffic. MyTraffic runs very well here on a similat PC to yours so it is Not MyTraffic at fault.
April 24, 201511 yr i dont have a traffic.bgl after installing Mytraffic6. Should i be looking or does it have another name ? Michael Moe Michael Moe
April 24, 201511 yr Great video - thanks for taking the time to share it Rob I purchased yesterday for Steam but have not installed yet. Having said that the video showed models that looked pretty good to me. Of course the most impresseve part of of that video was the skill of the pilot flying the helicopter Mark CYYZ
April 24, 201511 yr Finally got round to purchasing and installing MT6. All things considered, I'm glad I did. Many thanks for the hard work Burkhard. As they say here in the UK "It does exactly what it says on the tin!" It gives me traffic, My Traffic, on my PC. I have set my airline traffic at 25% and compared to WOAI which I was using previously, I have much more traffic and activity and slightly better frame rates at my heaviest airport EGLL.
April 24, 201511 yr i dont have a traffic.bgl after installing Mytraffic6. Should i be looking or does it have another name ? Michael Moe The MyTraffic BGL's are in the MyTraffic scenery folder, unless that has changed from previous vesions. They are named MyTraffic*.BGL. - Jens Peter "Penz" Pedersen
April 24, 201511 yr i dont have a traffic.bgl after installing Mytraffic6. You do and you will find it in \FSX\Scenery\World\Scenery\ The file is called trafficAircraft.bgl and you need to rename it trafficAircraft.bgl.passive. Other wise you will have the poorly optimised and unrealistic default traffic sitting at your gates.
April 25, 201511 yr Author Hi folks, if you've noticed any bugs or have any suggestions, Burkhard is collecting items for his first patch...
April 25, 201511 yr How does this effect VAS? I'm already having issues with P3D V2 and VAS. ATP MEL,CFI,CFII,MEI. Type Ratings B-737, ERJ-190,ERJ-170
April 25, 201511 yr if you've noticed any bugs or have any suggestions, Burkhard is collecting items for his first patch That's good news ... I've notice the A380 produces tire smoke on take-off which can really hit FPS pretty hard. A feature enhancement request would be to have heavies scheduled for longer flights ... I've seen A380 takeoff at Heathrow and land at Gatewick ... doesn't really matter what the destination airport for me, but for long range aircraft having them reach further out for airports would be nice. As for UI (user interface) some suggestions: 1. When shelling out to run a program you don't need to do it via CMD window, it can be done other ways completely hidden to end user 2. FSX, P3D, FSX-SE all have specific registry entries that can be read to determine what the end user has installed, from that point onwards the UI can hide items that don't apply to the user 3. Setting of folder paths shouldn't be necessary as all that information is contained in the registry 4. Many of the forms/screens don't auto center to application and/or screen, they default to upper left corner (on high res monitors it can sometimes not be noticed at all) 5. Update the forms to a more modern Look and feel ... (use VS 2013 or VS 2012) If Burkhard wants me to help, I'm willing (PM me) ... I could clean up his UI easily and get him going on a more modern VS platform. Not looking for any money in this, just offering to help. Cheers, Rob.
