The Hawker is Released

Have you guys noticed that they are editing out a lot of the negative comments on their Facebook page? Sad to see a business resorting to that.

And that is precisely why this forum was created...

I don't disagree with either of your points. But that's why people have high expectations that aren't being met and are venting their frustrations in this thread. You can't have it both ways; if you build people and don't deliver they'll be annoyed.

I understand, I share some of the same frustrations as other people here but what I don't like seeing is coming onto a thread and seeing a bunch of people bashing Carenado as a company when the topic is not about that. This topic is about the Hawker, that is what I came here to read about but the past few release topics about Carenado are littered with forum trolls who just want to talk a bunch of trash. All I am saying is there is a time and a place, I am pretty sure I saw another thread around here that is all about complaints on Carenado.

I think it's a bit naive and simplistic to consider everybody who criticizes Carenado's way of conducting themselves, as "trolls".    The same thing that you are referring to, used to happen on every thread concerning Ariane products (although, to be clear, I am not in anyway comparing Carenado to Ariane!!).

The fact is, Carenado, do have some really disappointing ways of doing things.   And that is what these posts reflect.   Just because this thread is about the Hawker doesn't mean that you're only going to get posts and views about the Hawker, and from people who've used it... (forums don't work like that).    Why shouldn't people post to give their position, for example to say that they're not intending to buy the Hawker because of the number of times they've been let down in the past, with bug-ridden Carenado releases, that were not then followed up, or supported with adequate service releases.       I paid $50 for the Carenado Citation II and yet it's permanently deleted from my HD;   not because at it's core it's an awful product (as, for example say, most Wilco products are) but simply because the bugs are too significant for me personally, and because I've lost faith that Carenado will spend any further time on that aircraft.    They have a 'conveyer belt' approach to development and once new products are in development or released, you've little hope of seeing them go back to develop even recent releases that still have often major bugs and issues.

This is no accident.  It is a fact;  it is a choice made by Carenado, and people are intelligent enough to realize that.   You get some developers like Milviz, Eaglesoft or RealAir that will release service packs and updates for a 3 year old product ..... and yet Carenado will apparantly just abandon the improvement of their product line, once a product is 'no longer the current product that is bringing the cash in'.

It's cyclical and we've seen it many times.     In 4 months, there'll be another Carenado product that is being treated with stunning promotional screenshots and then released.   ...... and at that point, people will still be wanting their Hawker to be fixed but will have little chance.

You cannot expect these strategic aspects of how Carenado do their business to be ignored by users on a thread like this.      Unless of course what you actually wanted was just to read lot's of positive things about the Hawker - in which case, I'd recommend their Facebook page.

I agree with you on 99% of your post. However, when the posts aren't constructive it starts getting ridiculous. I am not here to read positive or negative things about the Hawker. I came to this thread hoping to read some first impressions/reviews of the Hawker, good or bad. What this thread ended up being was a bunch of people (majority who hadn't even bought the Hawker) talking about how bad of a product they thought it would be and how awful Carenado is (what I consider "trolling"). As I said in my previous post, I have no problem with those kinds of opinions and for the most part I would agree with those people and share many of the same opinions I just don't think they belong in this thread.

An FS9 user here? Hehe

Yes I am a FS9 only user and do hope Carenado have a moment of madness and release some more FS9 products…….not for me but my friends.

I am here because I am fascinated by the trail of this strange company who produce amazing models but do not listen or learn…….they could be so great. :Nerd:

Carry on ….. 'n pass the popcorn. :Peace:

I think they do listen though...  my thoughts are that the lead developers in their company are like engineers: really good at what they do, but horrible at bringing the product to the masses....  iow no real communication between buyers and themselves.

Then again if they were expert engineers there would be less bugs.

I had a support question the day I bought it and within 15 min I had an answer which helped me successfully see the PL21 glass after a few installs.

I also sent them my "bug list" today with a response already as well.

Just wondering are you having OOM issues with this plane I've OOM'd twice!

Learn cool 3D modelling program... check...

throw some default FSX flight models into my cool new looking model... check...

Sell it for $50...

Keep releasing new models based on the above premise... check...

laugh all the way to the bank as suckers buy my new looking default FSX aircraft... check...

The flight model is well done - people who keep saying this arent changing their weights and aren't looking at temps and perf charts.

It hand flies really well

has anyone else noticed that it is impossible to turn off beacon light? The switch does not work once they are turned on the first time, Even after I turn off everything (inlcuding batteries) it keeps on... weird stuff. I also did a test flight tonight with half fuel and 4 passengers, and at FL300 it was climbing at the awesome rate of 200 ft/min. After I finally reached the cruise level of FL320 , I let the plane acelerate at climb thrust to about 310 knots and reduced N1 1%, it started slowing down very quicly. I hope this gets fixed

It's alway nice to see threads like these that again confirm that I'm one of the lucky few who can tell the difference between rushed "quick bucks" products and the planes from (I bow for them) A2A, RealAir, Majestic and PMDG.

PMDG products cost almost double though.... well quadruple if you factor in buying FSX and P3D products both separately.  You've got me with Realair (my favorite) though.

Problem is I haven't tested in FSX yet... only P3D.  I'll check out the FSX version someday hehe.  And so far I completed a flight in P3D: KSFO - KLAX online on Pilot Edge, using Orbx NCA, Orbx MRY (overflew at FL330), FB SFO, FSDT KLAX with no OOM.

I would just like to say that it is comments like these that have no place in AVSIM. "Lucky few"... What condescension!

Just a question, do you use any weather injection addon or default fsx weather? I have not purchased the Hawker as I'm quite worried by the feedback until now so I cannot check that but I know that with some proven bug free addons, the weather injection can be responsible for very low climb rate and speed at high altitude specially when the temperature is way higher as it should be.
