ORBX sale and compatibility

Featured Replies

Hi all-

Would anyone happen to know if an updated ORBX list exists that states what regions and or airports work in P3D V3? I came across this but as you can see, it's for V2 only.

I don't want to go on a buying spree and get some bad news.

Thanks,

In their defense they were almost done updating their entire catalog for P3Dv2 and then v3 came out....

  • What is wrong with you, seriously? I posted the link where JV clearly states that over the next few weeks, ALL ORBX products will receive a Prepar3d v3 update. So, you can easily buy NOW a product in

It's looks pretty slim which was what I was afraid of.

With free updates you can't go wrong but I also understand any frustration. There were some airports that Didn't ever make it to v2. before I was using v3

Black Friday is quite a dilemma, this year. The stuff that is updated, either I already have it, or I dont have any need for it, so if I want to take advantage of the sales, I have to guess about which products might be updated in time to be used for a reasonable time in P3Dv3.

I took a gamble on CYBD and CZST, 2 years ago, assuming I would be able to use them for a reasonable time with P3Dv2, but I was only able to start using them recently and like two months later they were outdated with the release of P3Dv3...

My family is pestering me with questions about what I want as present with the holidays and I wouldnt know what to tell them if it's not for additions to my flightsim, but I dont dare to take any guesses, on anything...

How do others 'calculate' their guesses about if addons are worth purchasing, without information about when they get updated?

Cheers!

Maarten

Mr CEO said on the Orbx forums that if you buy any of their 115 downloadable products, they will all be eventually ported to P3D v3 and you can get the updates at that point.

All of the ORBX products will be updated to V3 compatibility for free. It just takes time with 100+ products and a constantly evolving P3d.

Yes good news alight.  I'm going to venture out of my comfort zone and get some Across the water stuff.  Like the look of the American Regions,  some cool airports dotted around there

Maybe I'll venture over to you guys someday hehe

The sale runs until Jan 1st so you have plenty of time! maybe even spend some X-Mas money (if you still get it, I know I sure as heck dont).

Let me guess.... you want 64bit.

I'm not a big ORBX fan but I just happened to load up the only scenery I purchased from them (NORCAL) into P3Dv3 and was really impressed,  compared to the last time which was in FSX.

I have put all their regions in my shopping cart, $250 worth (hard to pass up 35% off).  I understand they are not all compatible but was wanting to get any opinions on if its worth the money?  I keep hovering over the buy button but just haven't pressed it yet.
