SkyForce is not weather engine...this is the same thing like new ASCA? - right?

...but what is the difference between SkyForce and Environment Force? :)

Cloud, clouds and more clouds....I purchased REX 4..."best textures ever", "developed from the ground up", and then came Soft Clouds when I thought I already had the best. And I had the previous versi

I'll wait for some reviews after it comes out. I looks like more of the same honestly.

  • Me too, i gave up on REX and the 14+ installers to bring it up to date, then try and integrate soft clouds and you have to uninstall again and restart because you went to far.....

Sky Force overhauls the core weather of the game.

Environment Force is like ASCA

Weather Force is REX's weather engine, like ASN / AS16.

Environment Force also manipulates water, maybe something else... ASCA - only clouds. Are you sure these are the same "group" of product?

They are roughly comparable, to put it into context.

And I mean it overhauls the entire core weather implementation within the game, replaces it with just about new everything. New clouds, new weather types, how clouds are portrayed, upped the amount of cloud types etc. basically strips away the default weather implementation and replaces it with a new, overhauled system.

Now I have ASN and REX4 TD. I have dilemma now :)

Should I change to AS16 or wait for Weather Force...

Should I get ASCA or wait for SkyForce and Envieronemt Force...

This is wrong... Environment Force is nothing like ASCA. More information and videos will be posted as we get closer to completion. We don't want to give any more information out for obvious reasons.

Sorry if I haven't read the entire forums for getting a clear picture.....but can someone help me with my confusion.

I use ASN and REX texture direct + soft clouds in FSX now.

HiFi just released AS16, which is combinable with ASCA for getting best results. (pretty expensive though). So, AS16 replaces ASN for me and REX clouds get replaced by ASCA in that setup.

Now, what is SkyForce going to do? Replacing FSX' weather engine in a way no program did before? I only read "advertising" information about that, but nothing about how this will exactly work. And thats essential information regarding compatibility I want to know before upgrading my HiFi stuff....

Proper overcast. Uhmm, SOLD!

You can have that right now!  AS16 does it perfectly:

REX has an issue of product confusion.. They have come up with so many different products, I do not understand them any more

They need to whittle it down to two products.. 1) Weather Engine and 2) Textures

KISS!

If you have a more recent updated version, increase the version # and charge for it if if necessary.... Do not rename it and call it something else.

otherwise its confusing as hell.

Actually Manny it's not quite that simple because what we are doing is beyond just a weather engine and textures. You will understand as soon as we get more information up. I will take your points as valid however, and we will make this super clear to our customers so thank you for your feedback.
