Thx Michael.

I think you're also an X-Plane 10 user, so most surely you have tried the Peter's Aircraft models, the QPAC A320 ( my preferred ) and the JarDesign A320 NEO. Since you say you get the best feel with this one, I guess it must really be different :-)

Also try that patch for the Aerosoft Airbus series linked above. Users are finding it very good.

Only version of a PC-based Airbus I haven't tried yet is the Airlinetools A32X

I've been a XPX user, and I still love this sim, with all its potential.

I've uninstalled it to have sufficient space for P3D, which is my current main sim platform.

I loved Peter's A320 family, with the fantastic QPAC FBW plugin. In normal law, and leaving the protections aside, the feel of it is very convincing. But that's quite a limitation for an Airbus, and system wise it's been rather lite as well.

The FSL has it all, and the resulting overall experience is the most immersive sim experience I've ever had! So personally, I'd say, the A320X is better than any other high end jet simulation I've "flown" over the years.

It's the little things and the attention to detail, like I've already stated in a different thread, listen to the sound of the vents as you change the power source (ground unit to APU for instance). Things like this create such a dynamic environment. Something I've only encountered in A2A GA planes so far.

Makes sense Mik75, I'm sure they really did their homework :-)

Maybe one day I'll give it a try when the P3D version becomes available. I stopped investing in FSX for good...

When flying in FS 2024, the World looks amazingly realistic!!!... feel of flight (on most of the aircraft) feels fake...

When flying in XP12, feel of flight feels great!!!... Default Scenery (less the airports) looks fake...

No way I can drop either - Love both 😍

You have to José!

I don't get the whole scepticism about this release. Yeah, the price is high, but it's worth every cent.

And, for an initial release, this is impressively complete and free of major flaws!

Living (and therefor mostly "flying") in Europe, the Airbus A320 family is by far the most used jet airplane all around! I liked the AS Airbus, it's been the best we had so far, even though it's very static, and shows no dynamic behaviour in its system and flight controls. But it's very affordable, so I'd still say, it's worth its price.

But the FSL Airbus is a whole different thing, it's a difference like night and day! For me, it's a revolutionary release! A game changer for sure!

The biggest feature I look forward to in the fslabs is to use metric units to fly in America. And you have an option of the lcd and analog standby instruments in the cockpit, correct?

FS Labs simulates newer EIS2 cockpit (square corner screens) and I don't believe many of those had the analogue standby instrumentation. FSL actually modelled a specific MSN, although they've then added some selectable options (not sure if reverting from ISIS to analogue is one of those though)

A vas comparison sitting at a payware scenery like Aerosoft EGLL of the fslabs compared to the pmdg 777 would be nice to have.

I thought I read about analog standby gauges, not a big issue though. Maybe they can do it in an expansion.

You can switch units between lbs and kgs.

The EFIS is the most current version, with the bigger LCD screens, instead of the CRTs. This version comes with the LCD standby instrument, instead of the analog gauges.

Do they plan on modelling the older model cockpit?

Ohhhh i was really hoping that this addon would suck. Although i have been away from my PC for several months (and potentially a lot longer yet), I was looking forward to coming back to P3D and getting the PMDG 744 to go alongside my beloved NGX, 777 and DHC-8.

The problem i have is if i want the FSL bus instead/as well, i will need to buy a joystick (having only recently binned mine for a CH Yoke).

And, if i did get it my flying time would decrease and my time be spent instead trying to choose whether to take the NGX or Airbus for a spin.

AND, I will have to study Airbus systems to be able to work the thing.

Oh how irritatingly expensive it would be if the FSL turns out to be good.... first world problems eh?

I had the idea of having a joystick just in case I felt like learning Airbus. Glad I did.

I must have got this joystick on a sale, I thought I only paid 30-40 dollars about a year ago, but checking Amazon today, the Saitek ST290 joystick is over 100 dollars.

I moved my yoke to the side, plugged in the joystick and set it on the left of my computer chair on a little platform of a tall box like you do in the real plane having the sidestick right at arm height. It is fun! I am enjoying learning the systems and can't wait for the p3d version of the fslabs.

No - the majority of the systems would need to be reworked.

Okay, thank you for the information. I'd like an analog standby panel option even if no crt screen options but this is not a big problem.

@Mik75 -

Could you do me a favour please?   Could you see if the heading bug movement in the FSL responds to the default FSX key assignment for Heading Bug Up & Down (I use them in FSUIPC and they're called HEADING_BUG_INC and HEADING_BUG_DEC, but I think they're available in the normal FSX Assignments too) ?

I appreciate the FSL is a complex aircraft with mostly custom code, but still some other such developments still have the heading bug binded to the offsets for the standard key commands for these.

I just have an aversion to fiddling on trying to adjust the heading knob using the mouse in my aircraft - and prefer to use key assignments for this control.

Thanks.

I doubt that it will work, but I'll give it a try and will report back here.

The guys from FSL already stated that they will implement more custom key commands in the future!

Hi Bill,

This won't work. As we indicated in our reply to you on our forum - those assignments are coming.
