I just dont get this whole "early adopters" rubbish... Just let people have it they have waited for 7 years... If there is bugs they will bring it up and you will fix it, whats the big deal ?

Reasons has being already discussed at length  at the fsl forum,  beside  waiting  another  2  weeks  or  so its  not  going  to make  that much of  a difference after  waiting  7  years  as  you have  suggested.

Compared to the PMDG 777, how is the VAS?

Very close both in FPS and VAS usage,  However I have to say with a bit of messing around with my settings and deleting shaders I am getting a steady 30 at the gate at FSDT KLAX with mytraffic6 AI on 20 percent

I am going to fly to fly to flightbeam KSFO..  I am not using the orbx regions but I have vector open LC and global textures installed, using AS16 for weather.

I don't think the concern is so much with undiscovered bugs in the aircraft itself, but the potential for installer-related problems due to unforeseen issues on customer's computers.

Bingo!

Well just checked out an official FS Labs video made a while back the lighting is great - lighting on the wings and engines at night - super - conclusion - purchasing P3D version for sure

I think you will like it,  I will be getting the P3D version as well.     I have not been using FSX for over a year but after a few days I got this thing tuned pretty well.

By the time the P3d version is out I should have a new 1080 video card, so I am looking forward to that.

This is good to know. I was worried. The 777 runs fine here, so I guess the A320 won't be a problem...

Thank you!

Hi, I have a performance challenged system (a 3Ghz E6850 C2D system) which I have to make some compromises to run complex addons, One of them is turning off the High Def 3D cockpit option in the Aircraft menu. This gives me about 6-10 extra frames, so I can fly with fluid frame rates (For me) even when running with traffic, and I don't really see too much lose in graphic quality. This allows me to fly aircraft like PMDG, the Q400, CS etc... The only aircraft model this does not work on is the Aerosoft A3xx series, it corrupts the ND display. (Makes the image double in size). So I would really appreciate it if someone who has the FSL A320X could test this for me and assuming it works, post a screenshot from the Captain's chair in the VC, to see if there is any appreciable loss in quality?

Thanks in advance!!

Thanks

Tom

Just finished my flight from FSDT KLAX to Flightbeam KSFOHD and I think I got all the kinks worked out in my  fresh FSX install.   With AI traffic at 20 percent and most sliders to the right ( autogen on normal)  With orbx global, OPENLC NA, vector,  AS16, ASCA  and mytraffic 6 at 20 percent I was between 25-30 FPS

This is a major improvement on what I was getting out of this bird on release day 15 or so FPS at default KBOS with no traffic  :fool:

I agree. Seems just a fancy phrase for "Paid Public Beta", except open to the lucky ones who reside in the correct time zone.

Other software houses have been slammed on these very forums for doing the same thing.

Well... i noticed that people in this hobby tends to say Aman to everything developers saying. Same people that defended so badly Aerosoft airbus some 2 years ago now attacking them after seeing fslabs bus. I really think i have to stop posting what i think...good luck all and enjoy.

Well... I am sitting here, flying the Aerosoft Bus, waiting for the FSL Bus to come to P3D. And enjoying the show on AVSIM :-D

People going at each other because of freakin' software.

Gonna take my popcorn and ask: Is there a timeframe when the P3D version should be available?

Other software houses have been slammed on these very forums for doing the same thing.

The developers who typically get "slammed" are the ones who release products that they know full well are not ready for prime time, but who want to get revenue streaming in, so they put their creations on sale anyway. The two software companies who most often do this both have names starting with "C".

It seems to me that FSL are trying to avoid this very scenario. They have every reason to believe that the product is ready - but want to be absolutely sure that they have not missed any serious installer issues by doing a controlled initial release to a limited customer base.

IMO, they should be commended for that approach, not condemned.

ANY brand new release is a "public beta" of sorts, because no matter how long or careful an in-house beta testing phase might be, there are always going to be unexpected bugs that crop up once the software gets installed onto the extremely varied hardware/software combinations that exist on the computers of the general public It's not like releasing to a game console like XBox, where every end-user's system is absolutely identical to the systems used by the developers.

I have P3D, so I will still have to wait many more weeks, (or even months) to get my chance to fly this aircraft, but for those with FSX, I doubt it will be more than a few days before the new Airbus goes back on sale for "everyone".

Quite frankly I've never seen it before from a major vendor, especially when for years we've heard it will be "ready when it's ready". It seems maybe it's not quite ready, so it is effectively a public beta.

The "installation" excuse seems a bit like a furphy to me - PMDG have never done it that way - it's either ready for general release or it's not - that's what I'd do, but then I'm not a software developer, since you wanted to know.

To be fair, PMDG has a sizable staff in place, While I don't know what size staff FSL has, I can't imagine it's that big as they only have one other released product. With the anticipated demand of this one, which could be equal to a PMDG release, they may not have the resources to handle all the potential support issues at once, so by doing it this way, they can get a fair amount taken care of, before they open the flood gates.

Thanks

I keep reading comments about how more advanced systems don't justify the price.

Guys, and Ladies if any are reading this..

You have to fly this plane to believe how good is it, The simulation of the FBW and handling both in the air and on the ground is amazing. Absolutely ground breaking. If you at all into airliners upgrade if you need to or turn down some settings to experience this plane.

I have not had performance issues with this plane since I deleted my shader folder, I get locked 30 99 percent of the time maybe dip into the low 20's at worse. My rig is a 6700k @4.6 16 GB 3200 ram and a elderly 4gb GTX670. It is about on par with the PMDG 777 as far as performance goes.

youre running DX10 ?
