Seems like quite a bunch of (FMGS) functions are missing... what a pity.

Thanks for linking.  Would be nice to know to definitively know all the limitations/exclusions of the product before purchasing.  (Definitely a bit disappointed on the RTA feature - I certainly get my use out of that one.)

To say this has been heralded as one the most in-depth addons ever, that's quite a list of missing features. And it's not like they're ones you wouldn't use in regular ops.

The DA F100 virtual cockpit was coming. So was the Airsimmer full version. It's nice to know they're planned (I appreciate the info) but I make purchasing decisions based on what the product offers at the moment; that's not to say I question Fs Labs ability to deliver but I've been stung too much in the past.

Hear, hear!  (Coming from both a DA and Airsimmer customer who still feels cheated.)

Could someone copy the list? I don't have access to it and I am curious.

1- SEC F PLN, STEP ALTS, CONSTANT MACH, and RTA functions is INOP at the moment

2- Modifying the cabin des rate on the CRZ PERF page does nothing

3- Diversion to another field by selecting NEW DEST in a lateral reversion, FMGS didn't calculate new fuel and ETA times for the new destination, all the weight and approach speeds etc were blank, Managed mode will not engage

4- Instant max brake application after landing

4- Instant max brake application after landing

Not sure what this means but I've never experienced this in almost 2 years of testing. Perhaps the user's settings need adjustment.

In my experience, autobraking and manual braking work as expected.

Number 4 on the list, relating to the max brake on landing may be a bug, or specific to certain users' hardware setups or calibration. I'm pretty sure it is not due to a feature being "left out" of the current release, since variable brake pressure seems to work fine before takeoff per user reports.

The other items are still "work in progress" per FSL.

I use P3D exclusively, so do not yet have the new FSL bus, but I do own the FSL Concorde for P3D, and based on my experience with the developers, I have every confidence that if they say these additional features will be implemented, they will indeed be coming.

I don't think that a comparison to Airsimmer is really fair, as that was a very badly managed project right from the beginning, with many big promises, but no substance. Airsimmer was all marketing bs, whereas FSL has a well-established track record.

Of the currently missing features, it is my understanding that the RTA function is the most difficult and complex to program correctly - and indeed many otherwise "complete" flight management implementations by other developers omit this particular option, including PMDG's NGX series.

RTA is a "nice to have" feature, but one which is not really necessary in the majority of r/w flight operations. It's probably most useful for flights on the NAT tracks, where the oceanic clearance for westbound flights departing Europe will often require arriving at the first oceanic waypoint at a specific time, with very tight +/- tolerances.

The constant Mach feature also is most often required during oceanic operations.

I would hope FSL implements step climbs, and (especially), the ability to change the destination in flight without loss of perf predictions "sooner rather than later", as those features are very important.

I certainly wouldn't want automatic maximum braking after landing. I prefer to use the thrust reversers and spoilers down to 70 knots in the PMDG 737 NGX, and then apply manual brakes. I am pretty sure that this will just be a bug for some users.

As for the post count that anyone has or does not have , " my " generation ( or at least my family ) was raised with the notion that if you have nothing to say , say nothing . Having only a few posts under my belt doesn't make me an expert ( or troublemaker ) on any subject that I cared to post in .

I’ve been around along time too and It does seem like that at times, and I’ve seen more than a few people with a lot of real world experience get scared away because of the “your post count is low so you don’t know anything” argument. Maybe we both need to start padding our post count with a bunch of “I agree”, or “+1” posts.

As for your page 16 question:

Failures allow a deeper understanding on exactly how the systems and their backups are supposed to work.  It also gives purpose to all the preflight tests you go through as opposed to just going through the motions. I only occasionally use the pre-programmed failures, and when I do it’s usually only on local flights, or to try an ETOPS diversion.  The random service based failures I use on every flight though. The chance of a failure using the random failures is pretty low, so there’s no reason not to expect to make it to your destination.  When they do happen though it adds some variety as opposed to just droning along from point A to B on every flight.

How do you do that Brian..Where do you set the probability %age in P3D?

Still waiting on an answer on screen mode you are using 320 on - you have to use windowed mode guys ? - thanks

Hey Rich, I don't have the Airbus, but I feel there's no need. Seems just a recommendation, which is understandable when we are talking about FSX (P3D is a bit more stable, I think).

I'm just posting this because I saw some videos on YouTube from early adopters and there was some of them using full screen without any visible issue.
