October 30, 20169 yr I find no problems, only disabled orbx EU, using ftx global from pilots open lc Europe and all UK2000 scenery, flying from one airport to another without resetting sim
October 30, 20169 yr Downloaded and installed FreemeshX Europe and North America...now flying from EGLL to KAUS to see what happens. 3.5 hours since departure and residual VAS is stable at 1110. Should be reaching the coast of North America in a couple of hours..we'll see what happens then. I will advise my findings... October 30, 20169 yr Just finished installing freemesh x as well . My test flight has seen no large jumps in vas so far . Steady climb as expected . May just have moved the issue will keep testing. Colin hodds I7 9700K,nvidia 3090 ,ssd ,32gig 3200mhz ram ,win10,prep3d
October 30, 20169 yr Great find but is this related only to v3.4 or is it repeatable with v3.3.5 as well? Would be interested in this as well. Is FS2010=FTX Global Mesh, or does FS2010 behave differently? Regards, Chris -- PC: Intel 13900K, Gigabyte Geforce RTX 4090, 64GB Fury Beast DDR5 RAM; Display: Varjo Aero VR

I will advise my findings... 6.5 hours into my flight and VAS has suddenly started to bleed ...it has remained stable at almost 2900 Mb for about 6 hours but now it has started to increase and I am only with 600 Mb left. 7.5 hours into my flight....VAS usage has steadily decreased and now I have 1032 Mb residual VAS.......very strange behaviour... Not strange... expected in this VAS plagued version of P3D. I took have from KSTL in the United States with NORMAL autogen on today and I am doing a 2hr 40m flight to Florida... only have 500 megs left of VAS.. and only 30 minutes into the flight... NORMAL AUTOGEN.. with 1k texture resolution.... -_- It seems I am only allowed to complete flights if I fly with Photoreal scenery. Autogen scenery is just bleeding me dry... The pilots mesh issue I believe could well be very localised to London East bound . It has helped me as I had lost the ability to fly in or out even with a restart . I have not been able to fly pay ware to pay ware for a long time .p3d just does not unload the memory created from the first airport. A restart mid flight is the only way.certainly been that way since 3.35 and I believe earlier . By the way 600 Mb if you are close to landing is very good. I would be surprised if you were to oom at ksfo. Generally your vas figures are much better than mine . I would be lucky to depart aerosoft egll with 700 Mb remaining. Can do better but have to remove vector entirely.just read you were landing at Kaur no experience there. Colin hodds I7 9700K,nvidia 3090 ,ssd ,32gig 3200mhz ram ,win10,prep3d

I have completed my flight from Aerosoft EGLL to ImagineSIm KAUS, 9hr 50m, no midflight restart, with 850 Mb residual VAS remaining after engines shutdown in KAUS. This is extremely good.....considering that the visual settings in P3D menus are in the high part of the sliders, FTX Vector has everything enabled except Tertiary Roads, P3D texture resolution is 2048, and ASCA clouds resolution is 1024. I have disabled the exterior model of the PMDG T7 to save some VAS (not a screenshot addicted, so I don't care about it...). October 31, 20169 yr Enroute UK2000 EGLL to FSDT KORD with my PMDG 777-300ER. I've made these trips from Heathrow to Chicago, Dallas and Los Angeles several times each in P3Dv3.2-.3 but unable to do anything of the sort with v3.4. I departed EGLL North with about 3.7GB VAS used and it decreased slightly to 3.6GB over NAtlantic but failed to decrease any further like it used to in two past versions. Crept up to 3.8GB over Goose Bay and I had to save and shut down when abeam Ottawa due to low VAS. Gong was gonging and OOM was incipient. Reloaded scenario and started with 2.6 GB VAS used. Restate the obvious: VAS management introduced in early v3 is broken. I have over 3.9GB in use when I quit and reload same aircraft, weather and scenery and VAS reduces to 2.6 GB. Dan Downs KCRP

[/quote The issue here as I have said many times is the departing airport is kept in memory .never releases until you restart .weather this was always the case I don't know I think it was and we started from lower base vas usage so could could cope better Colin hodds I7 9700K,nvidia 3090 ,ssd ,32gig 3200mhz ram ,win10,prep3d
October 31, 20169 yr Restate the obvious: VAS management introduced in early v3 is broken. Mods should pin this advise, but with the caveat that 3.2 is pretty much perfect
November 1, 20169 yr On my system, I have never seen Prepar3D release a huge chunk of VAS when flying over the ocean (from one detailed airport to another) - neither with v3.2 nor with any other version. v3.4 is no different to me in this regard. What remains a fact is that in FSX, the VAS piled up incessantly and took another big load when arriving at the destination airport. Prepar3D v3 slows down the VAS increase noticeably and leaves more room.

Man I wish I knew how some of you are flying heavier hitters with High settings and not bombing out. In some sceneraios I can't even get from one state to another without the VAS just drying up like someone is sucking it out with a straw. What could possibly be different that is allowing some to flying with high everything and not blink an eye then others like me with 1k textures, normal Autogen and 737NGX can't even make a simple National flight... :( IF I fly with photoreal on instead of Autogen I can make it with no problems. Usually have about 500megs of VAS left. Autogen/Landclass flying just murders me. Maybe something with GEX P3D combined with UTX 2.1? Who knows... I am tired of trying to find out why... On my side P3Dv3.4 releases VAS after leaving EGLL at these settings, same like in P3Dv3.3. But I don't use FTX regions, waste of money, considering the current limitations.
