[01OCT16] PMDG 747-400 Queen of the Skies II is moving to beta testing!

Featured Replies

Is that detail of hydraulic fluctuation already modelled in the 777?

I think one of the points to his story was that they have been modeling systems for awhile and this product is an extension of that technology.  Note the hydraulics in the NGX and how pressures and fluid levels change with condition, and more so in the 777 with more pumps and pistons.  The 777 systems modeling includes effects on moving fluids when aircraft is rotating (Coriolis effect).

Wow...that IS attention to detail. You sir, and your entire team, have my utmost respect!

However, being also somewhat of a neurotic myself, I'm getting really nervous now. It's just...well...you know...I can fly a NGX and a 777 all over the world, from cold & dark to shutdown, all the while following realistic procedures as much as possible, with just the occasional glitch while landing (it is NOT convenient that the Gear handle is not in plain sight) I can watch blu-rays that play for 3 hours and follow a flight, while the captain explains technical procedures and I just sit there and nod at him in understanding (but luckily he doesn't asks questions) But there is one thing, just ONE thing that I really can't get my head around...and that is...well...just simply NAMING my new PMDG 747 directory in Windows

Should I name it:

* Queen of the Skies II

* Queen of the Skies II v2

* Queen of the Skies v3

* Queen of the Skies The Freakin' Best So Far

* or just Queen of the Skies

:unknw:

I thought we settled on v3 (also visible on the earlier Screenies) but that's not what the title of this thread (and the one before) is saying?

Please help...oh the agony!

Flyin' Greetings,

Robin Heinis

As a married man, naming a an inanimate object the Queen will not play well with the prone-to-violence-cop-wife.  Andso, 744 for me.

Why would you name the directory? This is already taken care of by the installer.

I always make a map for downloaded liveries, updates, info, screenshots etc...

I'm finding 747-400 Queen of the Skies II, QOSII, QOS2 or whatever rather a mouthful (or keyboardful). 744v3 might have been problematic but at least it was short and sweet.

Give the "Queen" a good shaking during the Beta Testing so the community gets a superb product that will make Boeing even prouder.

Great pictures I can't wait!

I particularly like pics 3 and 4 showing off the lights (black and white stripes) on the glareshield that come on to guide the pilot down the runway in low visibility! AMAZING level of detail, I know BA have this as an option on their 777/747's.

Does anyone know what those lights are called?

Also visible in this image is the Para-Visual Display, an interesting little techno device that uses input from the ILS and the FMS in order to increase the crew's awareness of runway centerline tracking during low visibility conditions.

Very nice indeed and am looking forward to it finally being released.

Any idea on what the minimum and recommended system requirements will be?

Cheers

I didn't know that. That is a staggering level of detail. I knew PMDG were good but didn't know they were that good.

haha - adorable cat aside, we don't accept applications for beta testers. RSR describes it in more detail here.
