X-Enviro is OUT

Featured Replies

First i bought Skymaxx (with discount), i was really disappointed in XP11. Black clouds at sunset, just cumulus, and so on. I don't want to bash against Skymaxx. Its a great product, but if one want to fly more than just GA below 10k feet, X-Enviro is the better product.

Today i couldn't resist, and bought X-Enviro:

Just WOW. This is how the sky should look like.

Great shots! You'll love it, a bit more with every flight! ;-)

Definitely. Something I'm loving to bits about this program is the diversity of cloud formations / weather / colours it displays. Every flight feels unique, and my jaw is almost constantly hitting the floor.

I am a bit tempted by x-enviro, but first i got to get XP11 once it's out on Steam :)

I think xEnviro does look much more realistic and it clearly simulates weather as a whole in a much more advanced way. Maybe not as pretty as fully 3D clouds, but we've dealt with 2D clouds in FSX/P3D for ages and managed to create realistic looking cloud scapes.

There a lots of times during chilly weather with thin overcast clouds that do look like xEnviro 2d clouds.

Im very happy with the weather depiction with xEnviro and like scotchegg point it out, every flight is so unique, I love it!

Just had another xEnviro flight using the Carenado Centurion with Reality Expansion Pack. Took off from ESSA heading north. Full overcast from 2000'ish feet. Didn't clear before passing >3000 feet. Wonderful. It was like flying in milk. Passing through the overcast layer I was suddenly flying in the most nice sunny weather with a nice depiction of the overcast below me. Climbed to about 8000 feet and then did a 180 degree turn heading back towards ESSA. Wanted to see how the overcast behaved descending down through it (last time it was wafer-thin going down but not up through it). Not an issue. Beautiful lighting and atmosphere. Took a couple of minutes to pass through it. I could sometimes see the airport lights through the clouds, annoyingly, but not all the time.

Very happy about the depiction of weather. Absolutely lovely. Highly recommend this add-on.

Sorry if this was discussed before.. i'm still an in progress migrator from P3D / ASN (well using both really).. for XP11..

With this cloud package.. does it replace textures in the sim.. do you have to have it running to get those textures.. or does it replace them, then you can set the weather using built in XP11 options for weather..?  Are these considered HD textures ....  or...

Does it require the program be running outside of XP11 and set to download weather that is currently occurring?

Does it do like ASCA does and dynamically adjust cloud shapes/types based on current weather, rather than picking "themes"?

Its my understanding from this thread that later on historical weather will be added as an option (and maybe customizable static weather?)

Are these considered HD textures .... or... it totally replaces default, it disables default texture/weather engine, these not HD no custom weather as of now but maybe in the future see road map http://xenviro.net/work.php

Does it do like ASCA does and dynamically adjust cloud shapes/types based on current weather, rather than picking "themes"?as far as i can see its dynamic and its each time i fire xp the weather is different but please feel free to ask the developer on their fb page https://www.facebook.com/groups/xenviro/

Historical weather is on the roadmap, but I don't think anything has been mentioned so far about customizing the weather. I don't even need full customization, just sliders for wind velocity at the various levels, so I don't get blown off the runway. We don't all fly airliners in the sim.

I think that it tries to be like ASCA without the 3d clouds. It still looks pretty awesome! Do not have it yet, but will have it soon.
