December 9, 20169 yr (Maybe Rob Aiscough will abandon his retirement plans to join LM ) He'll even get support in relocating! And yes, while I bought XP11 I'll stay with P3D as my main sim, too. Not only because of the 1000's of Euros I invested into it including some stellar ORBX sceneries I am in love with, but also as I still prefer its overall visual impression, Kind regards, Michael Intel i7-13700K / AsRock Z790 / Crucial 32 GB DDR 5 / ASUS RTX 4080OC 16GB / BeQuiet ATX 1000W / WD m.2 NVMe 2TB (System) / WD m.2 NVMe 4 TB (MSFS) / WD HDD 10 TB / XTOP+Saitek hardware panel / LG 34UM95 3440 x 1440 / HP Reverb 1 (2160x2160 per eye) / Win 11
December 9, 20169 yr Incredible how all those XP pilots keep visiting this P3D forum. Why would that be ... ? Just kidding :LMAO: As for the op thanks for sharing great news :-) André
December 9, 20169 yr That's great,to bad i just made my move to X-plane, and i love it  Lots of luck with that sad looking simulator.
December 9, 20169 yr XP is a sad looking sim compared to P3D. Like lipstick on a pig in my opinion. Every Time a new version of XP comes out, the claims that it is better than sliced bread start popping up, and they still wind up with a microscopic market share once the dust settles, and then the promises begin for the next version. Same old, same old. Agreed. Tried XP11 and it looks and feels rather cartoonish in comparison. Only spot it's better for me is night lighting. Anywho, glad the P3D updates continue, and look forward to "something new" in 2017...
December 9, 20169 yr I am glad to see the update and improvements in regards to VAS, and also good to see a company hiring people local and not having their developers offshore. I will continue supporting LM, I am still unsure about X-Plane, I am waiting to see if we get an airliner at the PMDG/FSL level gets released as I haven't seen anything to my taste yet. Competition is good for us the customers Happy landings! John
December 9, 20169 yr How disappointing it's only a hotfix. How different is the current version of 3.4 with say 2.1? I don't think it's very different. Feels like P3d is more or less standing still. Not going to x plane though. The addons are no where near as good as P3d. Just wish p3d would make bigger improvements rater than the odd tweak.
December 9, 20169 yr http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6312&t=120967&start=30#p148522 Re: Possible new VAS issue in v3.4 Unread postby Adam Breed » Fri, 09 Dec 2016, 15:36 All, In the upcoming v3.4 hotfix 2 we have reworked an area of code to more aggressively purge data when traveling large distances. We believe it might improve some of these VAS reports. Feel free to continue to report use cases and any specific reproduction steps. Regards, Adam Prepar3D® Engineering Project Manager Good news. It almost seems like there won't be a version 3.5. I'd like it to aggressively purge data on short flights, 60 mins is the best I get with the pmdg NGX less with the 777 and that's with all the sliders backed off. Never ever experienced OOM or VAS issues before 3.4.
December 9, 20169 yr Ditto Steve, Three weeks ago I gave up my flawless 3.2 - for 3.4 - now the longest sustained flight I can make is 1.25 hours - and I don't fly PMDG... Shortest flight a mere .25 hours... My PC might see even a shorter flight in the near future as it flies out my second story window... Maybe the silly 3D airspaces eat up resources when not in use ? Regards, Scott
December 9, 20169 yr Folks, this topic is about an upcoming P3D hotfix, not a P3D - XP urinary olympiad. Please don't make it into one. December 9, 20169 yr ...a P3D - XP urinary olympiad... Brilliant. Permission to use that phrase under license? On topic - have just migrated back to P3D and haven't yet flown any segments long enough to be VAS-challenged. With luck, hotfix 2 will be here before I get a chance to hit the limit. Question for more experienced friends - how long does it typically take between a mention of a patch like Adam's and the actual release? Alan Ampolsk"Ah, Paula, they are firing at me!"-- Saint-Exupery
December 9, 20169 yr Author The last time, for Hotfix 1 it took from October 17th (the first official mention) to November 7th. The delay probably has to do with beta testing, so there is no way of knowing how long it will take to release a Hotfix. But a Hotfix is supposed to cure an immediate issue, so it isn't going to be months.
December 9, 20169 yr Thanks - sounds like a late December-early January thing, at least as a rough ballpark estimate. Good to know. Alan Ampolsk"Ah, Paula, they are firing at me!"-- Saint-Exupery
December 9, 20169 yr not a P3D - XP urinary olympiad. Not to be anal about this (pun intended) but an olympiad is the time between olympic games. So we are actually in one.
