I was hoping to see more pics of the Caribbean waters with EF, but instead I'm reading bickering and confusing comments. Mods you can close this thread. Thanks! I would not discourage you to buy it! I got it while it was on sale as a bundle and I also run the latest BETA. Since most of the users do use EF in combo with SF3D, it is not sure where some of these issues come from. The fact is that the combo produces some realy stunning environments BUT (and this is why I always intervene) there are certain scenarios where the results are not that great (e.g. heavily OVC...). June 26, 20196 yr seems that the square clouds issues only some users are effected by it, maybe the new update of asp4 that just came out might have solved it just maybe:) I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg

I will enjoy what I have without nit picking it to death. The issues your talking about I never see but then am taking in the scene not looking at every cloud trying to pick faults. Nothing I run is fault free even the FSL has them. But 99% of the time I see pass it. But then I don’t have OCD yea I agree if you really start nitpicking that you seem to be fixated on that, I havnt seen the issues either seems that only some users are effected. I would really appreciate your help on this. Thanks! Am at work so cannot do screenshots for you but thoughts are Ramon. Do you HDR, I ask because there is an option for HDR clouds and none HDR clouds in both SF and EF. Try opening SF and just inject a set from there and see if that helps. 1 hour ago, pete_auau said: yea I agree if you really start nitpicking that you seem to be fixated on that, I havnt seen the issues either seems that only some users are effected. This problem is not related to EF. But the WX engine. In this case maybe SF (or AS4) This issue is grid related issue, so the WX engine behind. Edited June 26, 20196 yr by fs1 Federico Sucari

I have been flying all week long with only AS and under OVC I haven't found square clouds. One of the devs of ASP4/ASCA explained a long time ago that they worked on their cloud models/textures etc... for a long time to overcome this grid issue. When using other people's clouds/textures, you have a good chance of seeing this. Eric
June 26, 20196 yr I brought the cloud grid issue up on the REX forum as the only time I have ever seen this was while using EF. I have used AS since it came out many years ago. I have used Rex SF with AS ever since SF came out a couple years ago....never once have I seen a square cloud. As soon as EF was added to my SF/ASP4 combo... I had square clouds. It seems REX has been blaming too many issues on everything outside of their products. One of the REX support answers was that square clouds exist in the real world sometimes!!😵 Someone recently had an issue with clouds disappearing when panning in the VC (using EF) and it was blamed on ASP4 injecting default models even when SkyForce models/textures were being used. Is this now an issue? SF was supposed to replace all default models. A lot of posts have also been scrubbed from their forums. Too many things lately being blamed on everything else or the simple statement of "it's a complicated product" and it does not come across well to customers. I also see different answers to issues depending on which REX person responds. One says it's a SF issue, one says it's ActiveSKy, one says they have never seen the problem, one says it's a known issue. Maybe they are right...it's all just too complicated now. Federico the next sentences might be complete nonsense... I suppose EF injects SF "cloud puffs" to generate a "3d" looking OVC or even clouds. I also suppose that it creates a "blanket" of a certain size of those "puffs" whenever a METAR reports OVC. If a station does not report anything (or it's update is not on time) then the WX will send erroneous or no data at all, thus the OVC "blanket" immedeately "stops". I again suppose that those "blanket" sizes are choosen to get a cloud pattern as accurate as possible e.g. station A reporting OVC and 10mile out station B reports already clear skies so the OVC blanket should not spread over station B. Now if all the nonsense I wrote above does have a grain of truth, then the guys responsible for the generation of the "OVC square blanket" could trick that, so the puffs don't end abruptly at the edge of the OVC (in other words to generate more puffs than actualy reported). I'm sure that if the other guys did it, you guys can do it also. Gerald K. - Germany AMD 7800x3D / ASUS ROG X670E-Gaming / ASUS Strix RTX 3090 OC / 64 Gb RAM GSKILL.
