Have you tried the rex forum? To much overexposure thats why I unstall it for now.

Cool. I’ll have a look. With SO many settings, you’d think it could be adjusted to be correct.…

David that looks great, but I'm seeing awesome images with PTA. It's hard to switch to an add-on that it's still in beta.

@DJJose EF is not in "Beta". We were talking here about the latest Technical Update beeing in Beta.

It’s not the beta it’s the new patch everyone can download.

ASP4 is the weather engine controlling the weather. At this time it is generally agreed that it does a better job than the SF weather engine.

Yes, of course. I use ASP4. I didn't actually mention ASP4. I was asking about why you were also using ASCA with SF and EF dealing with the textures. What part is ASCA then playing?

I'm not sure that part is doing anything as I have all its functioned disabled. I am using ASP4 as the weather engine with SF3D providing the textures for clouds and sky, and EF doing it's thing on top of that.

I see both SF and EF are on sale.  I still have reservations.

I just purchased EF and SF during the REX sale. I was previously running AS + ASCA + Tomatoshade.

So I have done the following and want to confirm this is correct.  My objective is to set it and forget it.

1) Set up EF in full auto mode.

2) Set up SF with random texture set and turned off the SF weather engine.

3) Turned off ASCA so the SF textures are used.

4) What do I do about Tomatoshade?  Uninstall it, will it just be overwritten by EF shaders ?

Is it possible to have SF auto select the cloud and environment textures based on the weather scenario from Activeksky?  If so how do I set the up ?

Ok this is what I have done.

1.) the same, but configured the texture resolution option in manual mode which has the same as in SF

2.) the same but setup all the cloud models / texture resolution / etc... same resolution as in EF

3.) Correct

4.) restore the original shaders from P3D before running EF
(is the folder ShadersHLSL in the P3D main folder which need to be restored, I make always a backup of the main folders after a new version of P3D)
Or you could uninstall the P3D client and reinstall, which will write the original shader folder. Also delete the shader folder (C:\Users\(yourUsrName)\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Shaders)

In auto mode EF just does that and select all stuff based on AS RW

Mark with SF and EF goto textures and change them to DTX5 512 there all 4k default. Make sure to do it in both.

IMO you don't need or want other shaders just use ASP4 for weather SF and EF job done. EF in Full AUTO.
