*Sigh* It's TOYLIT. As in "Mum, I kneed a toylit"

Goodness sakes! 😣

I was just usin' my best Archie Bunker Bronx accent.  Sorta like " I gotta go see my pal oil at the gas station so he can change the erl in the car."

New Yawkers, please excuse me if I am confusing Bronx for Brooklyn accent!

No, I'm tri-lingual.

And I always want to study a fourth language, i just can't dig into. I tried Russian when I study how to fly the PTT154 and SD An24, but I didn't remenber a single letter before I can fly a normal line opreation out of them....

What!!!   And all along I thought Ron was being the quintessential British gentlemen. I better print this and tape it to my desk for reference in future communications.

Perhaps I'm even four-lingual, as even though I don't speak my wife's language, I perfectly understand when She says "Do whatever You want...."

You also go to the loo, I bet!  Strange how us colonials say "go to the bathroom/restroom".  I ain't goin' in there to take a bath or to rest!!  Some houses have what is know as a 1/4 bathroom.  Basically a sink and a terlit.

Politely referred to as a "Cloak Room"

Bert

Don't ask for a bathroom unless you intend to have a bath, or a restroom unless you want to lie down.  It's toilet or a lavatory, that's what it is.

I've heard it called "water closet" in places.

I know a few less than genteel terms that should be understandable anywhere, but propriety prevents me listing them here. 😄

In France curiously. Water closet is a little passé but WC is the widely used colloquial word (pronounced VéCé /VaySay) as much as toilettes. And we also have a rather vulgar slang word for it. Another time.

I used to be.  English and Japanese.  I was stationed in Japan and took Japanese through the University of Maryland Far East Campus.  My first wife was also Japanese so I got a lot o practice.  I became the supervisor for the Japanese laborers at the bomb dump so I became somewhat fluent.  I could also read and write a few of the Kangi characters...enough to read what was written on store fronts and signs.

But that was 50 years or more ago.  I've lost a lot of it over the years.

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

I speak English and Texan.😁

Question asked of a Brit:  "Do you speak English?"

Answer:  "Yes, and I understand American."
