Carenado Mooney Update

Featured Replies

Agree that autopilot has been improved.. for C182 as well! 🙂

However, I now have two Carenado C182Ts side by side in my aircraft selection menu..

It didn't on mine.  Well flew well, but really difficult to trim. Elevator trim was way too sensitive, and lots of people reported the same.  Massively improved now though.  Can trim out easily in seconds and very stable. 👍

Excellent. I had to use FSUIPC to fix sensitivity prior to patch. It's still the best Carenado I've ever purchased.

The Alabeo Mooney for XP11 was excellent too.

It was a two for one update sale.

I really hate to say this (😆) but both the C182 and the Mooney updated as smooth as silk.

Just sayin'

Oh, for the first time since I don't know when, Carenado are turning out updates and still people aren't happy.

Excellent.  Loving this plane now!  Best Carenado I have ever purchased.

Not sure if the overhead light panel should be illuminated (I would have thought so), but I will continue to use the head torch (Alt-L) for now... Gives me an excuse to use it!  😄

Can't wait to try the C182 now.

With this and the excellent community 5-story building and LOD fixes, I feel like I am getting my sim back!

I also found Geforce Experience had 'optimised' my MSFS settings today.  I reverted it and reset my own settings.  Much better,

First thing I uninstall after a graphics update.

Sure enough, I go into GeForce Exp. and it had also optimized the game. I need to remember to turn it off after a driver update.

I only installed it to try some of the graphics filters that Colonel X was experimenting with.  I don't remember asking it to optimise MSFS.  I will have to keep my eye on that one in future.

Now... Off to try the C182... 🙂

Pretty sure there's a setting in GeForce Exp to not optimize titles automatically. I turned that off a long time ago. The option is "Automatically optimize newly added games." That must be the one I'm thinking of.

I thought I saw someone who seemed "in the know" mention that for the specific model year of C182 that Carenado used as the 'study model' for their release, the G1000 didn't have synthetic vision, so hence....none in sim.

No direct info, but that's the answer I've seen when this has been asked elsewhere.

The latest versions of the Working Title G1000 mod work with the C182 and that features a synthetic vision toggle option, so maybe that would add it?

Australia incinerates, half the population of the planet either lost their job or had to go into isolation, meanwhile, on Venus, it seems there is quite probably some alien life, then, just when you thought 2020 couldn't get any more bizarre, Carenado become everyone's favourite developer 🤣

It's the wrong model 182T for Synthetic vision, It was introduced some 5 years later.

I have to say I am disappointed that Carenado and Asobo fell well short of making a good and decent update to the M20R Mooney.  Sure, a few of the more obvious things are fixed but, not all and it stills flies as a cripple.

How are we support to fly precision approaches when the Heading and Course selections are in 10 degree increments. Geez Louise.

I need to do some more testing but, I am quite sure the Altitude Capture is no longer working correctly.  The first climb to a preselected altitude it blew right past the armed altitude.  I reset the Altitude Capture and made sure it was armed and dialed in a descent back to my preselected Altitude and it descended through the preselected and armed altitude.

I am also disappointed Carenado didn't make any effort to illuminate the Overhead Switch panel that is so dark you have to use external lighting to find the Taxi and Wing light switches to turn them Off and back On when flying at night.  They will probably say their model doesn't have any lighting for the Panel.  That may be true but in the real world Mooney the overhead lights above the seats have enough lumens and the wider spread of light to find the proper switch locations on the darkest night.

The Mixture may or may not be fixed. Leaning the mixture does affect the displayed Fuel Flow gauges, but, the numbers don't look quite right to me and that might be the level of system detailed that we will have to live with.

I think the personal fuselage numbers are sticking to the airplanes now, but, it is a clumsy fix. I added a personal number for the CJ4 and changed planes to the Mooney and the CJ4 number was on the Mooney.  duh.

Disappointed I am.
