Now P3D v5 was another story - getting a flight in without a CTD was like winning the lottery All versions of P3D were very stable on both my pc’s... With MSFS also no CTD’s (but enough bugs). Waiting for them to get solved. October 8, 20205 yr Always the same. Cry baby attention seeker troll, followed by the P3D boys letting everyone know how their outdated EOL cartoon sim is somehow better.
October 8, 20205 yr And another thing : many people made similar threads about how MSFS was the best and other sims suddenly were terrible. If someone is having issues with MSFS and we all know there are issues and he is trying for days or weeks and, even with advises, is not able to solve then and then post his disappointment, it should not be that he gets slapped around by one each time the same people ... The problems are well known and are documented multiple times. The P3D boys always jump in and tell everyone how their sim doesn't have problems, yet it does. If someone has a genuine question then great, otherwise these drama queen 'I'm giving up posts' are questionable to their intent.
October 8, 20205 yr Surely at some point typing all this out, you stopped and realized it was not worth your time. Enjoy your dcs anyways lol.
October 8, 20205 yr To everyone with no CTD, lucky you, I was in that boat once, until a few days ago lol Now I get the stupid smart camera going out of control then CTD. But I used the workaround to turn off multiplayer, no more CTD since, but it does suck having to turn of MP to no crash. There are definitely a few bugs causing CTD, its not always someone's system (another being the VFR map) but there are work arounds for most of them until they are fixed. Some are however ARE caused by peoples hardware/system. That being said the thrill is still there for me, just have to hope the bugs will be fixed.

For me it's the NAV data and anyone that bemoans this issue needs to compare the Greatest Sim Ever to other seven year old sims before mocking others. I got issues with this sim too, I am able to see the forest for the trees however, some seem not to be able to. I am happy to compare the nav data to seven year old sims, however. Up until this April, and its fifth PAID version, P3D was using data that was wrong in 2006 when it was coded. And also featured hundreds, possibly thousands of airports where the runways were incorrectly located due to underlying incorrect mesh and vector data. Sure you could buy a subscription with current data, but it didn’t match the data in sim, unless you did some other work, and constantly ran Mkrunways, so that your 3rd party atc would work. The worst you can say about msfs2020 nav data is that they are using a not that great real world source that actual pilots complain about, and that the AirAc will update slightly later than it does in real life. And They left it wide open for Navigraph as well. Xplane, I own, but dislike, so I understand it’s a bit better, but they don’t offer up to date nav data included with the sim either.

Considering how long it takes just to start the sim up i cant even be bothered with it until its fixed. I dont know who tests these patches, it cant be anyone with a brain, thats for sure. So let us hope that with the next patch the default aircraft are able to fly like it was intended. That would make a good start. Personally, I don't think MSFS has ever had a CTD at all on my system, and it isn't a particularly flashy PC I have either, but it is well maintained. It is wrong to state the CTD problem is on the OP's end! You might want to peruse the forums before making this bold claim. The forums are littered with people having CTD's. Myself included. I'm not complaining about it, but it is fact. There are many people that have CTD problems and many that don't. I've read enough of them to believe some of it lies with MS/Asobo to dig further into it. I have an older PC and a very new one the CTD's occur on both very randomly.
October 8, 20205 yr If not all people are having CTD's, then it does tend to point to personal set-ups. I have bugs and missing features, but no CTD's since putting my CPU down to 5.1 GHz, and standard clocks (a slight underclock actually) on my GPU, as it was getting really hot. Not one CTD's since - so that must have been my fault. Evidence - logic - fact. And as for respect. I can respect someone's opinion, but the OP's post was near enough a rant, basically saying 'bye bye, I am going to fly DCS - You can continue with this rubbish if you want'. How does he expect us to respond to that? Follow him out of the door? It is actually disrespectful to the people here enjoying the sim and sticking with it. It feels like being told we must be soft for sticking with the sim, as if we are all settling for lower standards or something. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).
