Recommended Posts

Thanks, guys. I will stay with 4.5 for the time being and use the cash saved for Christmas presents.

Maybe next year.........

V5 without EA is just P3D 4.6. Why even release 5.1 if EA is still partially broken?

V5 still has major performance improvements over 4.x due to DX12

I am glad that I did not buy a 3090 yet as I thought that with an improved EA + a 3090 I was ready for the P3D future...

First I want to see how this is being solved by LM.

I also have MSFS and for that my current 2080Ti is good enough (DX11)...

I have a 2080Ti as well. I don’t know what’s holding you back from trying v5.

The only times I actually have vram issues are LatinVFR’s terribly optimized Madrid and Miami sceneries. Everywhere else I’m not even close to maxing vram out in any of my many payware planes and countless sceneries.

For me also V5 has been the best version ever so far! Sorry to hear other people have problems.

Same here, it is so smooth after upgrading to i7-10700, I get nearly 60FPS with complex airliners and quite high settings. I have never had a CTD in v5 (only few GPU crashes due to unoptimized sceneries). It is the best version in my opinion.

It’s hands-down the best flying experience as well since micro-stutters are drastically reduced or even eliminated compared to v4. It’s much smoother. I can’t imagine going back to 4.5 at all.

I am using V5 HF2 already.

If V5.1 had a great looking EA than I could start using that with multiple cloud layers and benefit from a 3090.

For the moment I might stay with regular weather which my 2080 Ti can handle...

My RTX 2070 Super handles EA without problems at HIGH. My P3D runs even smoother with EA enabled compared to classic clouds.

Depends on your settings.

And I am running 2x 4K in NVsurround, which makes a big difference.

I wonder if this will be the start of the end of v4&v5 add-on compatibility.. as a v4 user still I'm a little concerned

its a USP to be able to sell it to a few more corporate / military clients.

why not overspend your budget in order to get a higher amount next year from the government ??

Let the dust settle a bit. As usual the "truth" lie somewhere in the middle between "this is the worst release ever" and "all sunshine and rainbows".

I noticed improved ambient lightning and how it affected terrain. It is certainly not worse than v5 hf2 if you ask me.
