October 29, 20205 yr I am glad that I did not buy a 3090 yet as I thought that with an improved EA + a 3090 I was ready for the P3D future... First I want to see how this is being solved by LM. I also have MSFS and for that my current 2080Ti is good enough (DX11)... I don’t know what’s holding you back from trying v5. The only times I actually have vram issues are LatinVFR’s terribly optimized Madrid and Miami sceneries. Everywhere else I’m not even close to maxing vram out in any of my many payware planes and countless sceneries.
October 29, 20205 yr For me also V5 has been the best version ever so far! Sorry to hear other people have problems.
October 29, 20205 yr Same here, it is so smooth after upgrading to i7-10700, I get nearly 60FPS with complex airliners and quite high settings. I have never had a CTD in v5 (only few GPU crashes due to unoptimized sceneries). It is the best version in my opinion. October 29, 20205 yr It’s hands-down the best flying experience as well since micro-stutters are drastically reduced or even eliminated compared to v4. It’s much smoother. I can’t imagine going back to 4.5 at all. Edited October 29, 20205 yr by flycln

If V5.1 had a great looking EA than I could start using that with multiple cloud layers and benefit from a 3090. October 29, 20205 yr "Developers now have the ability to create panel and UI content using HTML5 and JavaScript opening up new possibilities for content creation and improving workflow." I wonder if this will be the start of the end of v4&v5 add-on compatibility.. as a v4 user still I'm a little concerned

October 29, 20205 yr even if 5.1 is the same as 5.0 (unless you have VR) if makes PMDG stop dilly dallying around and release the 777 for it, im all for 5.1 Edited October 29, 20205 yr by fluffyflops

October 29, 20205 yr Let the dust settle a bit. As usual the "truth" lie somewhere in the middle between "this is the worst release ever" and "all sunshine and rainbows". I noticed improved ambient lightning and how it affected terrain. It is certainly not worse than v5 hf2 if you ask me. EASA PPL SEPL + NQ / CB-IR in progress MSFS24 | X-Plane 12
