AIG AI Manager OCI for MSFS – Development Announcement

All right -- I decided to blow away everything and start from scratch.

As I now understand it, to set up AI Manager, I only have to unzip the AI TrafficController files to a directory of its own, and enter that directory in the AI Manager settings as the "AIGTC directory" -- but I don't actually have to run Traffic Controller and configure it first, just have the directory folder with its unzipped files in place.  Is that correct?

More importantly, when I run the procedure to create the OCI directory, am I supposed to point it to my Community folder, which, in my case, is something like

C:\users\regnaDkciN\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_843543q2yuh\LocalCache\Packages\Community

or should it be placed somewhere else?  I notice that the video recommended for me has a more-direct path, x:\games\microsoft flight simulator\packages\Community. which doesn't seem to fit any pattern I've seen as to how to access the actual Community folder.  Confusing the matter is that my installation directory for the program is H:\MSFS, inside which there are two folders, "Community" and "Official" -- but that "Community" folder is empty and, I suspect, something I may have put there over the past year just to store the contents of the real Community folder when I had to empty it out, as opposed to being anything that's an actual part of MSFS.  So, is the proper step to point it to the Community folder in AppData, as I have it above?

Correct on AIGTC directory.

OCI directory point to your Community folder.

The video link is pretty good...at least as far as I have gotten. 🙂

In fact, AIM-OCI should auto-detect the correct Community folder for you.

Hi I'm Brian, I'm completely new to this AIG
So I've installed AI manager as Admin,
Execute file and it just seems to sit with a white bar going across the start up screen "Load configuration files"
It does not give me any options to select MSFS, nothing except this endless loop of  "Load configuration files"
It doesn't appear that I can get into any setup mode, is this gathering information from MSFS or have I completely stuffed up.
I've read the PDF downloaded the steps, in the video, but it will not launch into settings?

I've posted this on the AIG site, but still awaiting some guidance.

So if anyone is passing through, ill accept any advice.

Can someone Help me Please.
Regards Brian
BJ from Oz

after installing nearly all airlines last night beginning with A and confirming traffic working in SIM I bulk selected the rest and went to bed.

unfortunately I've woken to a crashed AI manager with memory error @Pegasus airlines by the looks of it. I did download the .zip last night and I'm logged into both sites as stated (newly created accounts actually), AI manager is back up - took ages though as there's a ton of data to chew through.

slight concern - under the "Errors" tab I have loads - and I mean loads of entries - starting at Asobo aircraft but then listing many many AIGAIM - ah I see, either NO MODEL or NO PAINT stated.

ok then back to downloading the flightplans - I want them all 🙂

hmm ******IS THERE A MAX AMOUNT YOU CAN INSTALL - I CAN SEE MY LOADED FS-DATA BAR IS FULL GREEN***** not installed reads 427

Thank you to the AIG Group for the amazing work they did on this. Especially considering it appears they did not have much help from MS. So nice to see the correct  aircraft around the airports again.

I tried AI Aircraft initially with MSFS and decided it was worthless. Now with the release of AIG it really shows up how poor the implementation of AI is with MSFS. I am surprised it is so backward compared to what was available in FSX/P3D. I really hope MS/Asobo give this some love in the near future to make use of what AIG have provided.

I have now been to a variety of airports and what I find it that most of my AI never take off. They taxi to the holding point and then turn in slow circles until they time out. I had some success at EKCH but only on oner runway. Do other people have the same behaviour?

Guys, I selected multiple plans and installed them, but there are many still were not installed... What is the reason?

For instance, Wizzair. I check configuration and there are models and repaints available, but doesn't install. Any ideas?

It took me 6 hours plus to install all 1281 Airlines. I will load up the sim later to check the traffic.

Honestly wow! just loaded up YSSY and the simulator now feels alive. Had my AIG AI traffic, had ground vehicles, had my AI SHIPS addon and it was a beauty! Just a quick one, do we need to wait a while for some packages to install? its like some packages get stuck when installing?

Nevertheless thanks to the whole AIG crew. Amazing job and a great start.

Don't worry about the Errors tab for now, as you've discovered there are some models (like A330/340/B747) that are still to be converted.

There might be problems with some airport layouts (formerly known as AFCAD). For example at KSEA (default) I see 'dancing' ai a/c. On taxi way to RW 34R ac stops and starts circling around (360°) until it diasppears. Some make it to the RW entry stop position and disappear then. But maybe this is worth another thread if it happens at other airports too.

I'm confused..  Installed everything as I think should be.  I installed files for KLM, pointed manager to my AIGTC directory.  Fire up the AIGTC and under the OCI directory have set it to my community folder.  Have all traffic to 0 in the sim, and generic models off.

Sat at EHAM with no traffic at all.  The map is showing a lot of ground vehicles driving around in the TC program..  When I look at the installed packages for KLM it says "FSX" under flight sim... Any ideas?

Just in case anyone wonders - you can also use the brilliant MSFS AddOns Linker with this. After the initial install (and maybe adding a couple of airlines to check everything works) simply move the aig-aitraffic-oci-beta folder out of your Community folder to wherever you have your addons stored.

Then create a link in the Addons Linker as usual and you're good to go.

But wouldn't moving the AIG folder out of the default location screw things up in the future when you go to update your flight plans and it's no longer there? Or does the shortcut point to the actual location?
