TBM 930 or CRJ

Featured Replies

Was watching some videos on the TBM 930 and thinking about adding another aircraft to my hangar. I also see there seems to be many mods on that aircraft, and what I am wondering , is might it be a better choice to wait for the CRJ to be released and focus on that instead, since that will most likely be a bit more polished. .

Two very different types of aircraft and for different purposes.  I'd say the TBM is more versatile and more fun to fly.  I'm halfway through a round the world tour in the TBM (for the past 4 months ) and I never get bored of flying it - with the mods.

The TBM 930 is a great option until the CRV is released, I was thinking to learn the CJ4, but I will fly the TBM 930 until the CRV is released.

System: I ASRock X670E | AMD 7800X3D | 64Gb DDR5 6000 | RTX 4090 | 2TB NVMe | Seasonic Vertex 1000W I LG Ultra Gear 34 UW I

Completely different aircraft types.  I love the TBM and am flying it nearly 100% of the time.  The modded TBM is an amazing aircraft.  It's great for just a few passengers (up to 5).  I am waiting for the CRJ so I can start flying regional airline routes (50-100 passengers).

Is there 3rd party add on for TBM-930? Or you referring to MSFS one?

I do own a CRV and it is a good daily commute car. However the engine is bit underpowered to drive, let alone fly. If you want to go somewhere nearby like within 100 miles, then yes CRV could save you time compared to TBM 930 but for anywhere farther, I would recommend TBM 930.

Btw, who's releasing a CRV in MSFS 😅

Is there a list of Mods that are needed for the TBM?

I have been flying the TBM 930 for the vast majority of my sim time (almost 300 hours) and recently downloaded the MUGZ TBM 930 Improvements Mod (here). I see it is now up to V.0.5.9. Along with the Working Title G3000 mod (here). Together they make for a much improved TBM experience, although I do believe that the vanilla version is still a wonderful plane to fly.

Having said that I am spending more time in the Citation lately, getting to know the Avionics in it and enjoying it very much as well using the Working Title mod also (found here).

who would want a Climb Restricted Jet over a TBM? 🙂

SAR Pilot. Flight Sim'ing since the beginning.

Bob,

I would go for the CJ4 with the WT mod. Its more like a Q400 that I think you like, but much faster hehe

I do step by step walk thoughts for any aircraft I use. I have one for both the TBM and the CRJ wt.

If you would like a copy to make learning it so much easyer just PM me your email, happy to send you a copy.

The TBM9  with MODS and the use of some resources is excellent. Just like a very good payware model. I use the following MODS that are fully compatible between them

(1)    Especially useful MOD for TBM9

https://github.com/mixMugz/msfs_tbm930_project

(2)    "Harding & Performance" MOD. Full compatible with the G3000 MOD (see next)

https://www.nexusmods.com/microsoftflightsimulator/mods/267

(3)    G3000 MOD – Works great withTBM9

https://github.com/Working-Title-MSFS-Mods/fspackages/tree/main/docs/workingtitle-g3000

(4)    3D. Cabin MOD – Excellent and compatible with th the other MODS.

Other Resources.
(5)    Real Pilot Manual

(6)    Performance Calculation Application

(7)    Videos on how to use the TBM9

And what exactly is the CRV? A couple of typos, maybe?
