I said it before and I will say it again, while I don't think Asobo is perfect by any stretch, this constant bashing by some reminds me of the bashing that went on non stop with MS Flight years ago. The result, MS said screw it, and pulled the plug. I would hate to see that happen with MSFS 2020. At least the people with Flight could still use it. If MS decides to shut down the servers, that 's it.

I get it!  In my job, if I delivered a solution to my customers that only half worked, then I say I'm going to fix it and give it a makeover, but don't fix the underlying problems - time and again, I'd be fired.  We're well over a year into this project, they have my money, yet I cannot see we're any further along in the maturity of the product.  If it wasn't for the modders I'd venture to say a very large swath of simmers would be elsewhere.  LMAO, I'm still using Process Lasso since the first days of release, that in itself is a testament to where the sim is.

That's not why Flight bit the dust.  I believe that MS tried to lock out third party add-ons.  Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

1.I think you should look at my comment again and you will find that you have misread it 180 degrees. i am not bashing it i am defending it.

2. Flight was dropped because of sales figures and if I remember well, it was MS that apologized for Flight to the YT content creators that were invited on that special introduction day in 2019

The whole model for Flight was wrong. It was far too restrictive in every sense, being initially limited to Hawaii only (and later Alaska through a DLC), with only a very small handful of basic aircraft. Some didn't even have cockpits modelled. It was a closed ecosystem as far as DLC was concerned as well. For obvious reasons it didn't appeal to those serious about flight simulation and it didn't appeal to the more casual gamers either who just buzzed around Hawaii for a few minutes and then got bored. I'm normally the last person to criticise anything but it really was bad!

I was a beta tester for MS Flight. Signing up expecting a more advanced fsx but what was delivered was simply appalling. MS didnt want it moddable and locked any unauthorised 3pd development. Nether the less the feedback provided was scathing.

Surely; it's a simulator game.

Now, everyone happy?

No?

Okay. Worth a try.

I didn't say you were bashing it, where did you get that impression from?

Let me say this as simply as possible.

If you claim, after familiarizing yourself with the WT CJ4 and the FlyByWire A320Neo, that MSFS is a "game", you're making a factually inaccurate statement

MSFS is still a game. And the way it is developing itself it is not exactly the way to become a real flight simulator, despite its name.

I know that you are a die-hard MSFS fan but after all these month you too see what is going on don’t you: 2 steps forward , 3 steps back.

It will be released on the XBox platform : isn’t that the platform for “Games”... ? If you can do everything with a game controller would you call that a flight simulator ?

Keep in mind that I own MSFS too and it is far from supporting what my real size Prosim 737-800 needs to be fully functional....

Same can be said for fsx, p3d and xplane. I can play all those with my Xbox controller 🎮

I understand you are frustrated but this idea that because there will be a xbox version that it weakens the PC version is utterly ridiculous. MSFS is PC first platform as stated by Jorg like 5 millions times already. Get over it.  Get off your high horse and elitist snobbish view. MSFS has done more for flight simulation hobby than XP11 and P3D combine over the past 20 years. IT's because of people like you who think they are better than others that the hobby was dying. Let people experience the simulator the way they want. If you think you need 100000000$ worth of equipement and addons to make you feel like you are in a simulator , well that your prerogative. It's not everyone's point of view.

It's already weakening the PC platform because a large portion of Asobo's resources are going into re-writing huge swaths of the sims for XBox, all of which is happening in branches of the code that we won't get to benefit from on PC until after the XBox release.

Many of the big improvements to things like weather are very unlikely to happen until after the XBox version is out and the branches have merged back together.

There are so many branches that the devs can't even keep track of what features they have fixed/added in the Q&As.

Us paying customers get a half-broken barely Beta product and the devs are off making an XBox version instead of fixing what they have already sold.

It's different team working on different thing.  Xbox version is important for MSFS and the flight sim community in general. Even if it doesn't appeal to you, it appeals to a lot that can't afford a PC to run MSFS. You guys really have to stop this nonsense.
