Fenix A320, high fidelity airliner, is being released

I know how it'll run down:

It was the same with MSFS when it was announced. Everyone claimed XP & P3D are done. Now look at where we are. MSFS is a screenshot simulator that flies like GTA. Same will probably apply to this Fenix project. All just marketing hype.

Oh well... and here I go. Complaining about diverting the topic and then contributing to it. 😄

The Trolls are up already this morning.

Pretty soon it will turn into a rant about "not enough trees"....

Because everything and more has already been said and discussed on a product that hasn't even been released yet. However maybe this is new:

I have heard on the stream by riiiva that they will have a stream about the MCDU on Friday. If I am not mistaken it will be on their discord. So on Friday we'll have more input for discussion.

Out of 200 millions of Windows 10 users and about 1 billion of all Windows versions combined ? Pittance, basically a rounding error...

Actually Windows 10 alone hit 1 billion active users a year ago, according to Microsoft.

This means the surge of X-Box users that will play MSFS won't add much more to the Azure cloud costs, including the cost of extra server processing power, bandwidth, and manpower to maintain those servers and bandwidth.

Yes, it means, that the pain of the added cloud infrastructure cost is alleviated by the many times larger fortune, they will make. Cloud scalability even allows on the fly to change capacity to match demand, e.g. adding capacity during spike phases after a rollout is easily possible, which after the spike demand phase is shifted over to other services.

This discussion is about the forthcoming A320 from Fenix, not about satellite imagery. Keep on topic please.

It's such a fascinating topic.  If the mods don't mind and it is allowed, maybe I will make a new topic about it here in the MSFS forums, so this thread can get back on track about the Fenix A320.

Excellent decision. 👍 You don’t need permission as you well know.

24 pages (and a lot of rubbish). I for one will wait and watch. If what Fenix purports is delivered I will gladly purchase. Meanwhile, I plan on encouragement- after all, what do we stand to gain from their failure… and how much does the community stand to gain from their success?

Cautiously optimistic- Carl

It is amazing the number of people that want to bash a product that hasn't even been released yet. No wonder Avsim has such a negative reputation by some.

Well that's the way I saw it, anyways.

This group we’ve never heard of working for months have accomplished more than FSL have in 10+ years, and we have heard nothing about this until now? Skepticism is totally warranted. It just seems too good to be true.  Again, time will tell.

Also keep in mind that they probably only talked about the cherrys on the cake. The cake has still to be eaten. I don't know if that metaphor even exists, but it sounds fitting. 😄

Happy with MSFS 🙂

It is a fallacy to think google provides anything for free. You just don't pay them with your money.
