Location is irrelevant, happens everywhere. No wonder people are upset over the graphics degradation. Have an extra look if you have Geforce Experience installed as there is an automatic game performance mode that changes what you choose in MSFS Michael Moe Michael Moe
August 1, 20214 yr Commercial Member He might have set the UserCfg.opt file to "read only". If that's the case, his setting will not be saved. August 1, 20214 yr I was ready to throw in the towel and fly the friendly if boring skies of P3D, and spent 5h trying to get the bloody NGUx off the ground! It's a complicated story that involves a ticket w/ PMDG. Then I learned about Nemo's observation and I must say it looks much better. There are some things you can do to improve lighting so between those two things I'm back in the air in MSFS again. What's still very clear to me is that there is a whole lot more hardware to exploit. VRAM and GPU use are way down even at actual Ultra settings. That is unused processing power so I hope we get that back. Still not sure about coloration but it's not as bad as it was. That must be from the EyeAdaptation=0 edit and NCP's color edits. You just get into a flight, then go to Options and select LOW-END, save, then apply ULTRA w/ or w/ edits, save again, and voila looks better. August 1, 20214 yr One thing I noticed was after changing the LOD settings in the config file and using MSFS, the next time I came back and checked the config file the LOD settings were back to 1.0. http://youtube.com/c/Greazer

I have done this in the past as well, but I updated Experience a week ago or so and then the option was checked again. Thank you! August 1, 20214 yr lol. You've got to be kidding me. I was skeptical about this. Then tried it. Well lookie there. Aside from the pop-in during camera changes all the glorious colors and crisp detail is back. Whoever is in charge if QA during beta testing needs to resign. August 1, 20214 yr Worked for me, although I had to start at Low end then apply then medium then apply High end then apply and finally ultra then apply before it would work. Lynchie

I checked my Ge-force experience, I reinstalled it, and it asks "Automatically Optimize games for Performance", and I said NO of course just in case. Then I went to the MSFS list in the experience list, and it just says "unable to find the settings". There are still a lot of weird LOD issues and texture problems in DEV mode in FS 2020 SU5 not related to just the settings. I haven't had a chance to try to analyze the actual graphics degradation or mode settings in normal flight again, because I'm not confident I can perfectly decipher it using a screenshot, you really need to do it on 2 PC's simultaneously to easily be able to tell. I have extra PC's with MSFS installed, but the monitors aren't next to each other. If I really want to be sure, I'm going to need to move the monitors together (bah i don't know if i want to or not to be honest, this game has put me through enough for one patch). Sorry if I'm not as optimistic as some others, I guess I just got burnt out messing with settings. Edited August 1, 20214 yr by Alpine Scenery AMD 5800x | Nvidia 3080 (12gb) | 64gb ram

Another thing I noticed with Experience and MSFS, was that after I got my VR headset and such, Experience started suggesting really low settings to my normal PC settings, not only VR. So I think that's why it automatically set it to Medium on my system. Either way, I have it sorted now it seems.
