Except that’s not how we would log it in the US. I have logbooks going back 20 years with the date MM/DD and the year at the top of the page.

No one in the US ever uses the format DD/MM/YYYY except maybe the military and that probably only due to NATO standards. 

Someone should have mentioned this to Oliver Stone. “Born on the Fourth of July” should have been named “Born on July 4”.

Somehow that just doesn’t sound right. Maybe even to Americans. 😉

No need to wait for the patch. Enable Developer Mode and hide it before a flight and all you CTD issues will magically disappear. Your graphic degradation won't though.

Unless you count weeks there will always be ambiguity in a date such as we record them.  Unless that is, you truly believe in everyone else ability to not make mistakes and the logic of the system in use to track the date.  IMHO this is both far more faith than warranted and too easily debated as evidenced here, respectively.  Recording the date as follows is nigh impossible to confuse on the part of the recorder and reader:  05AUG2021.  Easily read, parsing is just as simple and when writing (I believe) it is much harder to transpose day/month when one is recorded as alpha only.

I used that format for astronomical observations. Seems logical. 👍

For those who work with computers, software, 3D, graphics it's like this:

20210806_project_file_name 

At least that's how I learned to do it. The computer will sort the files in a way that makes sense, making it easier to find. And all software understands _ but not necessarily spaces.

Understood.

Our logbook conforms to requirements made by ICAO, EASA and our national CAA. Personally I never use that format either (I prefer yyyy-mm-dd)
