P3D has a walk around mode

Yes, it has. But as far as I recall, you have to change the "plane" to an avatar. I rather imagined a seemingless transition out of/into the plane. Maybe it's there and I forgot.

Kind regards, Michael

Someone enjoys them. Why should I rob that joy from them when it doesn't affect me?

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

This is not meant as a specific reply to you personally, JRM, but I just wanted to use your comment as a basis for a response in general.

I absolutely respect this point of view, and I know there are many, possibly (but by no means certainly) the majority of, sim users who feel this way. But, for myself, I have absolutely no interest in mastering the complexities of flying any aircraft. What I mean by that is that I have an interest in aircraft, and I love the idea of flying around in a sim, but I wouldn't know a SID from a STAR if either of them came up and bit me on the ankle. And as to what most of those dials and buttons in the cockpit do . . .

I dare to say, but he must be a twin of mine.

Kind regards, Michael

I use EZdock for that in the other sim, it transfers from an internal to external view though so sounds change etc. .  Works a charm.

In MSFS in the 145 with doors that open I actually navigated right out of the cockpit using W,A,S,D which are my keys mapped to movement and "walk" right out of the chopper to go exploring. I have a custom view mapped to outside the chopper so I can start there and walk over and get in 🙂  Yep, I am that much of a geek

As an aside, I am currently flying the default A320 into kphl, mostly because I'm relaxing I didn't feel like pressing a ton of buttons right now.

And I have to say......

It's all working smoothly and perfectly, and honestly it's not too shabby, assuming one can get past the commuity stigma of being caught flying a non "study level" default aircraft. 😇

EDIT: And of course, right after I posted, This happened

WOW, a lot of different takes on the same thing. I do look at the outside of the aircraft and would love to be able to walk around it and even do a checklist. Liveries are a big deal.  P3d's character is a separate entity, but i guess you could check out airports close up, still I probably wouldn't go inside, but that's just me. I'm sorry, but seeing the sun or clouds is not at all the same thing as the interior of the control tower.

So, we could integrate Simcity, Forza, and MSFS and you would have a whole virtual world. Add a virtual dating app and what's left?

They do it for simmers like me who love to walk through these places in VR.

There is nothing more thrilling than seeing your parked big behemoth airliner through the huge terminal window before jumping inside the cockpit.

Asus Maximus X Hero Z370/ Windows 10
MSI Gaming X 1080Ti (2100 mhz OC Watercooled)
8700k (4.7ghz OC Watercooled)
32GB DDR4 3000 Ram
500GB SAMSUNG 860 EVO SERIES SSD M.2

I like the interiors and they don't seem to have much impact on framerates. Gives me something to do when I'm bored.

No, you can pop right out and pop right back in with a keystroke, no need to change the plane to an avatar.

I find the walking around part not the greatest though.  It's clunky.

yes there is: seeing your very own parked private CJ4, TBM, Kingair or Beech Baron through the huge terminal window before jumping inside the cockpit 😀

Thanks, I never used this. So it might be, perhaps, doable in MSFS as well?

I would think so.  I would pay for it, or, if it's an added feature, I paid for it.

It's nice to have for a virtual walkaround I guess.
