October 6, 20214 yr this is what they said in the Q&A right? I can't remember now which other project they compared to, but they did say at some point they're just going to spend a couple of development cycles doing nothing but fix things, and not really improve the platform in other ways until they have a much smaller list of bugs

According to last Thursday's Dev Roadmap SU6 is listed inder 21st Oct which if they did the normal Tuesday release would make it the 19th (though it's listed as TBA on the Roadmap) Less than two weeks to test everything is a tall order..
October 6, 20214 yr The only thing I can find about fixing the abysmal tree distance that was introduced with the last update is this:-Improved clipping issue with close trees close to poles by dynamically extending the LOD 14 draw distance This has been broken twice and fixed once before. Hopefully this fixes it again. But it worries me that Seb seems to think the necessary draw distance is about 1/3rd of what I personally want. In the last Q&A he said trees had almost zero impact on performance any longer. So why not actually give is trees to the horizon as promised? Or at least give us a tree slider, which also was promised? The top end should be 3x what Asobo think is necessary. Currently trees on Ultra and LOD 400 render about half as far as necessary. And that's not even close to the poles, that's in Central Europe. Those of you who do beta testing, please check the tree draw distance and give them feedback about that? October 6, 20214 yr -Fixed blurry lights on ultra-wide/4k resolutions I'm excited about this one! For those with 4K screens please test this to see if the individual light orbs/bulbs sizes have been made to look smaller, and more like actual lights, instead of oversized squares with solid white/red/green colors. You will especially notice that when looking at aircraft nav and strobe lights from a distance and airport lights in certain cases as well. Hopefully this will make lighting look more crisp and improved on those higher resolution displays and more similar to the light orbs in X-Plane which look a lot better. October 6, 20214 yr Impressive! They are attending to all of my pet hates from the recent regressions. On the last twitch feed, they said that they never heard of the performance degradation over long flights. Some people suggested turning ai traffic on and off cleared it. It appears they have listened to this, found the bug, and fixed it. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). A long list with some very nice fixes. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/sim-update-6-flight-now-live/459829/2 Wow, so many bug fixes in Sim Update 6. This seems more like Sim Update 8, which was supposed to be a pure bug fix update. Edited October 6, 20214 yr by abrams_tank i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

Ergo, they simply ran out of time by July 27th. For SU6 and the future Sim Updates, they aren’t really on a clock like SU5. They are free to push back future Sim Updates if they aren’t ready yet, just like they just pushed back the last update by two weeks. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

October 6, 20214 yr A much needed fix is that the rudders (in the DOWN POSTION) on the C172 Ampib, come clear of the water at anything over idle speed and one can NOT steer the aircraft via water surface/rudder interaction. One can only HOPE to put it in the direction one needs by goosing the throttle and full right or left tail rudder. One only has to move a few knots and can see the pontoons lift with the water rudders completely out of the water....I hope they can slip this fix in... Edited October 6, 20214 yr by Sesquashtoo
