REX Seasons has been released

Recommended Posts

What be interesting to see is, is there a frameratehit in the automation setup of the season change, so a little one would be acceptable but to hard would be a killer ?

cheers 😉

If REX is good at one thing, I have found there a class act at textures, this looks great and a, start it and forget about it option sounds perfect.

I was waiting for Rob A, but not sure thats going to happen. Never liked what I see and hear about about the other tree mod, so I have my eyes on this.

Please try again.  We had to do some load balancing on the servers. It should be working now.

You can also access your download via our start page:  https://rexaxis.com/public/start

It's still not working with the S/N and order number.....

3D models are not available at this point, but we do have a really nice rendition of winter trees that are available in two of the four winter presets, as well as within the automated dynamic seasons where applicable. Here are some images.

It's certainly looks very nice and I will be giving it a try.

I'll keep an eye on this, but only after the teething problems are resolved.

So you could either use REX Weather Force or REX Seasons but not both at the same time?

Di you notice it was a question? I already have Weather Force and adding this REX Seasons would bring weather tools up to approx $50US. Considering I bought MSFS for $120US that's a lot of money for something that was promised when the game was launched and eventually will be a core utility.

I finally got it installed by setting up a new account.

Anyway, overall, it seems like a decent product. I'm happy about being able to change the tree height, as well as the automation feature. It installs something to update the trees based on system time, and there are 4 or more presets for each season. I guess it rotates through those presets, so you never really know which ones you'll get for that season. I'll have to do a bit more comparison, but, so far it seems to be working.

I did 4 short tours in Alaska, Chicago, Florida, and Cape Town.

Alaska looked pretty believable.

Chicago looked alright, not much different from Bijan's trees. They were a bit too full for winter, but they worked.

Cape Town looked fine. Green trees for summer, nothing too special.

Florida is where the biggest issue was. There were "winter" trees there. I didn't check the other tropical areas, but in comparison, Bijan has it beat for the tree biome placement.

I do but I still ask myself why you think that one can only use of of the programs at the time. They would mention it on the product side I would think..

Maybe, but I prefer to ask questions, stupid or otherwise, before I spend the money.

The core question is related to the automation feature for this usecase:

Start the simulator at LOWI

Start a flight at date 15.12.2021

Fly around

Open the time mask

Change the date to somewhere summer

Question 1: Does the trees look like summer color trees now? Or are still the trees from 15.12. implemented ?

If not

Stop the flight

Change date via main menu to 15.7.2021

Start a flight

Question 2: do I see now summer colored trees at LOWI?

If not.

Is this assumption correct, that it is necessary to restart the simulator to get the right tree colors implemented when changing dates and seasons?

Any feedback from users who have already tried this or REX is welcome.

Looks great, I will definitely buy once it is on ORBX. Just because I already have too many places to get updates from.

I have had good luck with REX products before, so this is a no brainier for me at least.

I think it's based on system time. And yes, you'd need to restart the sim either way.
