How about a nice Boeing 727/any word on this ?

Featured Replies

I would really luv to see a Boeing 727-100, followed by a Boeing 727-200.   These jets were big in the 70's and 80's.  When I was on FSX Captain Sim made a pretty nice 727 model.  I am sure this would attract a lot of simmers who have been doing this for a while, as well as somew of the newcomers.

Yes please! I was fortunate enough to fly on a Singapore Airlines 727 back in the 80s.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

There's a group working on one.  There was a rumor that they'd stopped development, but they came out recently and denied the rumor.  I can't remember what the group's name is, but I hope they're successful. I'd love a good '27 to fly around in.

An aircraft that you have to actually pilot? The horror! lol Think of the moaning that it doesn't have a one button AP to do everything for them. 😉

727-200 / 200 adv would be great.

Also a 737-200 adv. Milviz had a great one for FSX.

Wasn't aware of that - would this be what you're referring to ?

This would be great.

Only thing that occurs to me with older aircraft is how we get around navigation without the FMC? In all previous FS iterations the autopilot simply followed your flightplan once you hit "Nav", anything with a FMC was the cherry on the cake. I guess we could just chase down the aerial lollipops, the other option is having to actually tune in VOR's as we go and dead reckoning over water, but I can't see the joypad/arcade players wanting any truck with that.

We need a 727 to reenact the DB Cooper flight.

Used to fly as crew on the B727. A rocket ship ! They are a classic. But you will need to brush up on VOR, ILS and Inertial Navigation systems, like waiting at the gate for the inertial to align. Bring it on!!

Even I am willing the launch of the X-Plane 12 for the best 727s ever built for a simulator, I only miss a decent FMC like they have nowadays in real life.
