Yes, I understand very well. Especially when many businesses back up their work even daily on servers etc. For some reason this happened to affect many customers after SU8, why, I don't know, obviously there is an issue. What I noticed (as an example) on my case and others is that if I change REACTIVITY and save it from 100% to 80% and after re-start will fall back to 100%. This did not happen before and nobody complained. To answer speciffic to your question (in my case) it doesen't matter if is a/c speciffic or for default. I went as far as and I deleted all the profiles info from that location you pointed out C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs I restarted the MSFS, deleted all the profiles, re-started the sim and created a new profile from scratch, hoping that will fix it. Still, the issue is there will not save certain settings. If you have any solution I'm eager to try, unfortunatly, "this is not happening to me" it is obviously a consideration but not helping any of us facing this problem. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

I believe I went well past that! Thank you very much.... This is not the first issue with MSFS that does not affect all of us equally. All any of us who are unaffected by a new issue can do is make suggestions like what was provided. No guarantees. Mileage may vary....... And unfortunately, does. The "extremity dead zone" of 20% I have set to prevent it from happening, is reset upon each sim restart. Very annoying.
March 27, 20224 yr For my steam version it works as follows: You will find one file per controller profile in the following folder. I guess there is a similar folder for the MS Store version. If you use only one user on your computer there will be only one numbered folder in the folder ‘userdata’. 1250410 is the number for the FS2020 game used by steam. I do not know if the number differs on your computer. There might be other numbered folders if you use more games on steam. You need yo open all files one by one in TextEdit to identify your controller profile. In my case I named it murdock44 in FS2020.’ Folder with controller profiles: \Steam\userdata\’your user number’\1250410\remote\inputprofile_….. Make a safe copy of the controller profile you are going to change. You will notice that the entry AxisResponseRate="700" is missing. Add like below. Do not forget the space between the entries. Replace the 700 with a value from the table below. Let me know if the numbers result in the same percentages on your computer. Don’t ask me why these numbers. Found out by try and error and they follow a linear relation. Save the file and start FS2020. Your Reactivity in the changed profile should now show a percentage. Do not change and save the profile in FS2020. It will delete the entry. Controller file: … <FriendlyName PlatformAvailability="1">murdock44</FriendlyName> <Device DeviceName="Alpha Flight Controls" GUID="{350353A0-7EDF-11EC-8002-444553540000}" ProductID="6400" CompositeID="0"> <Axes> <Axis AxisName="X" AxisSensitivy="0" AxisSensitivyMinus="0" AxisNeutral="0" AxisDeadZone="0" AxisResponseRate="1100"/> <Axis AxisName="Y" AxisSensitivy="-75" AxisSensitivyMinus="-74" AxisNeutral="0" AxisDeadZone="0" AxisResponseRate="700"/> </Axes> Reactivity AxisResponseRate= 5% 200 10% 295 15% 391 20% 486 25% 581 30% 676 35% 772 40% 867 45% 962 50% 1057 55% 1153 60% 1248 65% 1343 70% 1438 75% 1534 80% 1629 85% 1724 90% 1819 95% 1915 100% 2010
March 27, 20224 yr After the update I had to go back and redo my flight controls. Elevator was really out to lunch.

In addition to weekly system backups I also copy my MSFS profiles folder to a thumb drive. It is in a folder path like this: C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs With a strange set of subfolders with names like: 000901FDE8E88D49_00000000000000000000000069F80140 Each subfolder holds a file with an equally strange filename. You can open them and look at them with an .xml compatible editor such as notepad++. The header section of the files look like this, which helps you identify which file is which of your profiles. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Version Num="2105"/> <FriendlyName PlatformAvailability="15">Bravo Throttle Quadrant Bonanza</FriendlyName> <Device DeviceName="Bravo Throttle Quadrant" GUID="{155DEBA0-4F65-11EB-8001-444553540000}" ProductID="6401" CompositeID="0"> Why isn’t there a straightforward path that allows easy backup? I get they don’t want people tinkering (but they do 😁), but not providing a means to backup configuration files seems a bit out of touch.
March 29, 20224 yr Addendum to my last post. use AxisOutDeadZone="-19" for extremity dead zone. Values are the actual percentages shown in FS2020.
March 29, 20224 yr Yep, happens to me also, reactivity of the pedals is always reset to 100, have to correct that to 60 every time if I remember to do that. And the live weather and the clouds are horrible also.... Lots to be improved then. Edited March 29, 20224 yr by Virtpilot Tapani Österberg

You go into Controller settings, select the controller you're interested in (Honeycomb Bravo Throttle, for example). It will probably show a profile of something like "Default Throttle Profile", well, at the bottom of the screen, there is an option for a profile manager of sorts. Click on that. From there you can create new profiles, copy another profile into a new profile, etc. This is useful for me, for the Bravo, as I might have one setup for the JF Arrow ("Complex Piston Single"), but another setup for the Flysimware C414A ("Complex Piston Twin"). Right now, for example, I have a "Complex Piston Twin" profile saved, which I use for the FSW 414A and the Carenado Seminole. I do not /have/ to do that, I could have separate profiles for each airplane, but, they are both twins with two throttles, two prop levers, and two mixture controls. But an important point, if I want to then fly the Milviz PC-6, its throttle is in the middle...BETWEEN the condition and idle levers. Now you see the importance of having per-aircraft (or at least per-type) controller profiles. I also do not /have/ to create any custom profile...but then my Bravo may not work as intended when I'm flying a twin vs. a single. Or the Arrow vs. the PC-6. Keep in mind, if you do create these profiles, you will have to manually switch between them when you load that aircraft. It is not as smart as FSUIPC in this regard. In addition I also keep keyboard profiles for each aircraft with different views sets etc. Not helping but I do not have a problem with profiles. As ffpilot I do save profiles before each update, saves a lot of time if needed. Mick
March 30, 20224 yr I just checked mine and it didn't save the new settings for me either. I'm no expert on this kind of thing but I was thinking that if there was a way to change the default settings to the desired state, It would then fall back to your settings. Just thinking out loud. Thanks for that I pretty much forgot this existed! Despite reading about the various parameters I'm never sure where to set them and often can't really tell the difference. I wish someone would post their settings for various aircraft to copy and see if it makes much difference. March 30, 20224 yr I have the same occurrence. TCA Airbus pack power levers are sensitive or keep moving without any action from me. I have no previous configuration of this controller due to having installed it after \Su8
April 19, 20224 yr I had the same problem as OP after SU8. The problem went away with the latest BETA from a few days ago. Not an issue any more.
