Flysimware Chancellor released (Beta)

The mirror is interesting, I wonder why it was put there?  It seems like it would be heavier than just a regular bulkhead…why carry that extra weight?

Will this Beta release also be available on Orbx/Simmarket /Just Flight?

I think the mirror in the back is to make it appear like the airplane has more room in the back, just like they do in some stores and rooms in houses. 🙂

Interested to know too.

Does it look better than the Kodiak 100, in terms of visuals?

Texture wise they're both very very good.  Kodiak is just more bland because it's new plastic and metal.  C414 is an old workhorse - it's got faded switch labels and metal flaked door hinges hehe.  This is all very realistic to the actual aircraft.  If you love new and pristine, this product will trigger your OCD lol!

My understanding is the Beta release will likely not be released to other stores, but once out of Beta, the C414 will be released to the usual stores and the MSFS MarketPlace. Frequent updates are anticipated during the Beta stage, and that works best thru Flysimware's own store where if necessary  "turnaround" time and user support can literally be a matter of hours instead of days, or worse.

What features can we expect in the future? Saved panel states (= switches as they were when I left the plane), wear&tear, maintenance? Those things are the only thing keeping me from buying it, because I need this to make an aircraft really feel "mine".

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Is this something that is going to be added later on?

No, it is there depending on the version of the aircraft you select (livery) and its corresponding equipment. What you mention is in the version without the GTN750, the first row of liveries to the top of your list.

True that, thought as much too. I'll let go of convenience this one time and I'll pick it up directly from their store.

Edit: Bought!

Great review! Came across the same concerns he has with the autopilot plus checklists. He conveniently skips inputting the ap into gps mode when he switches from outside shots to inside. The modes are a bit screwy regardless.

Also, the mixture things a bummer but not a limit of the plane but rather the sim.

cool things about this plane outside of the awesome modeling detail. Fuel computer, pressurization calculation, cockpit lighting, turbos glowing from the outside and cockpit window. the dual 750s is also so nice, and glad they went for modeling a gfc600 autopilot so hopefully they can get the kinks worked out from the different modes.

The mirrors fine if it looked like a mirror but it feels like a painting on the bulkhead because it doesn’t look like it’s “dynamic”, ie your point of view changes the mirror.

Overall, by far my favorite payware as this is an amazing ga plan to go 200-400 nm

When you force cap using Nvidia CP and hit "apply", is that supposed to instantly take effect, or would it require a restart of MSFS or the computer?

Might be simpler to lock fps in MSFS Options.. that is what I do.  Works nicely at 30 on a GTX 1070.

Anyone else having issues in downloading the installer for this bird? Been trying for the past hour but getting an "unable to download - network issue" message after downloading around 300mb. Tried thrice and am now on my fourth attempt 😭. I'm on a 200mbps fibre connection and my Internet is running fine. Any suggestions?

Edit: Installed on the fourth attempt! 👍

The more I fly this airplane, the more I just absolutely love it.

The conversion of this 414a shows through as along with the winglets, the props have their distinctive "qtip" shape (no there was a prop strike as the props are "bent"). This acts like a "winglet" on the prop and they increase "interference drag" to disperse vortices off the prop. They also are "said" to make the props quieter. In truth, they probably do very little in that dept (at least in my baron they are not quieter...you can see them in my profile pic).

This is the first twin (that I know of and I own both Carenado twins) that you can properly shut down an engine.

Figured out the GPS AP issue as I just had to hit the CDI button on the GTN 750. The altitude button is still finicky from what I can tell. Running the fuel pumps on low during climb and cruise is fairly loud, and I haven't found a difference turning them off, so just do that. The fingerprint smudges on the glare-shield are quite noticeable and fairly annoying.
