I have been unable to get this plane to capture an ILS signal. I put in the proper freq, descend to Glideslope altitude, then change the CDI source to VLOC. Then, I select APPR which gives me the LOC and GS annunciators. But it never captures.

Anyone have any ideas about this?

I had the same experience today.

I'm under impression that APR functionality doesn't work

Okay, thanks guys. It's weird they would release this without that basic function...

I understand , but then 20 years of my rl flying I did only one instrument approach on autopilot.

Anyone know how to get a clean windscreen? Too many marks on it for me, Tks.

It is in an open beta/ early access state, as stated on their website. Should be a patch at the beginning of the week here sometime…should fix a lot of the little bugs that have been logged on their subforum here at Avsim

My experience has been different - I've had it capture and follow an ILS path and glideslope and also same for an RNAV approach, using the GTN750 version.  I don't know if that makes a difference, but it might be helpful to know what version you were flying.

The marks seems to be built into the model.  I tried removing marks from the texture maps, and the completely overdone marks (look like hand prints) remain.

This completely kills the immersion for me and I hope they have it on the highest priority to fix.

I didn't notice them on my first flight or two but flying in bright clouds with the sun behind you, they really show up.  The wide coverage area makes me think it's some kind of splotchy mold problem within the cabin.  Hopefully the reference airplane isn't like this.

Will your autopilot work correctly with VS mode? Does it follow the GPS flight plan ok? Mine is not functioning.

Which GTN750 are you using. Thanks.

I'm using the TDS version but have you seen this post I made?

Just saw the email that FSW sent out today talking about current status and such.  I wont paste it here but the salient points are that the autopilot is getting attention and is not considered finished, and an update is expected later this week.  Response has been better than expected which has led to thousands of users providing feedback as opposed to the expected hundreds, so the author is a bit overwhelmed at the moment but updates will be coming.  He also suggests we don't start modding things ourselves yet because of the pending changes.  I know this is difficult to stop yourself from doing (I made tweaks to the camera.cfg file myself yesterday but set it all up as a community folder add on first so as to not have the changes overwritten by future updates).

All in all I think it was a good message and appreciate FSW keeping us informed.  The author is obviously busy working away on things judging from some repeated paragraphs in the email which I presume are just cut and paste errors caused by his haste to get a message out.
