April 24, 20224 yr Commercial Member Honestly I feel like the Fenix hype has faded big time. I think they hyped it a little too much too early and now they have gone silent. FBW is really progressing really really well and is picking up steam which will make me think twice about getting the Fenix A320. April 24, 20224 yr In the end, I fail to see how this discussion about Fenix hyping or not hyping their upcoming product translates into anything practical at all. If it turns out to be the best thing since sliced bread, we're all going to buy it - hype or not. As an average simmer, I can't say I've heard "too much hype" from Fenix at all. I'm barely aware of their upcoming product, and I have no idea when it's going to launch. You guys are just frustrated that Fenix isn't scratching your need-to-know-more-itch right now. When they do, and IF they launch a great product, this particular period of time will be wiped from everyones memories anyway. Fenix implementation will apply more to the virtual flight deck, EFB, flight dynamic modelling and flight ambience sounds. Wouldn’t make sense to give their source code away (as others have mentioned) to a new developer. Interesting... was poking around the ProSim forums and found this thread where you also participated https://forum.prosim-ar.com/viewtopic.php?f=100&t=23012&p=148948&hilit=fenix#p148948 And an earlier one where they gave a bit more info on how Fenix is using ProSim: https://forum.prosim-ar.com/viewtopic.php?p=148927#p148927: Fenix indeed is a customer of ProSim, Fenix is licensing certain components from our generic cockpit building software, on top they build their own A320 product for their market. Should anyone have questions on the Fenix product please refer to their website or Discord. I read one of Aamir's posts somewhere last year where he said that Fenix uses the MSFS core flight model... As you say, and from what I can gather in above forum chats, Fenix is likely using only a subset of ProSim, for systems/ECAM stuff. April 25, 20224 yr Developers often talk a great deal and tend to overestimate where they actually are in the development process, maybe the developer met the love of his life and has permanently moved to Shangrila, maybe he shuffled off this mortal coil. Who knows? It's all speculation The FbW, OTOH, can be enjoyed right now. Guess, where I'm putting my money?

April 25, 20224 yr What I don't understand (and this isn't a knock on them at all) is that they constantly say things like "we are working very hard with the beta team and can't provide updates, etc." all the meanwhile they are responding to the different chats on their discord. In my opinion, if the testers and the people running Fenix can take the time to respond and communicate to questions, etc. on discord, they could provide status updates on what is going on. IMHO Well yeah, they certainly can, but I think Aamir has made it clear he doesn't want to say anything right now. I feel like he's learning from RSR and Self Loading Cargo and intentionally doing the exact opposite of those devs, honestly. Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

Which exactly the opposite from what some here are saying that PMDG "over-hyped" the 737. This psychoses couldn't be better displayed if a university studying this phenomenon had put together a specific program to study it....the flight simming community should be getting royalties from doctors who study our group for interesting social behaviors. 🤣 I think you nailed it with "frustrated" because in the end...when simmers either can't get the info they crave, or get a plane that they see on streaming sites, their frustration leads them here to express themselves either way. If PMDG went completely radio silent now, pulled the product out of the streamer's hands and posted this "We're working on it...no more updates until you see it for sale"...the community would melt down. Seems like Fenix is kinda' taking this approach, and is of course getting flak for it by some, just as PMDG is for being too communicative? How does that work? It reminds me of this classic Austin Powers scene...the last line applies here "Then there is no pleasing you" Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here

April 25, 20224 yr No talk from this dev - clearly this product is vaporware 😉 I miss the days of no news, no thing, then bam! April 25, 20224 yr From what I can tell on their discord based on convos and reactions from the testers is that the plane is great so I am curious as to what is keeping them from giving updates or saying what issues they are running into. I don't really know what goes into a beta test but i am curious if they ran into a major road block or if they are trying to add more features and it is being more difficult than anticipated. April 25, 20224 yr Why not just wait. I am sure all the dev's with projects just coming to completion want to release their product asap just to get $$$$$$$ in the bank. It will have cost them all a stack of money to create these aircraft. I am also sure, non want to risk their good name if they went ahead and released one with show stopping issues.
