FENIX A320 RELEASED!

IGPU did the trick for me. Please test this for yourself.

In fenix app comes extra option. Choose intel cpu HD graphics. That is it.

Edit wrong conclusion:

On takeoff display lags and all over the place. It just does not work. Totally broken for me. I am not happy.

Edit 2:

Well this hurts. I have to give high CPU priority @ process lasso for fenix apps. Only then, it works.

Needs hours of testing though.

In my setup, overall the best setting is actually just to use the CPU for rendering.

But while I was experimenting I found a setting in the BIOS to adjust the amount of RAM allocated for use by the onboard GPU. In my case it was set low (32Mb). Increasing it to the max available (something like 640M) made an improvement. Might be worth a try?

Thrustmaster Airbus Edition throttles etc, TPR pedals, MiniCockpit FCU, WinWings FCU, WinWings Orion 2 F15E, WinWings A320 sticks.

Question in advance: is it possible to go through all detents of the throttle with the keyboard? Like one key for forward and one for back (and also back to the reverser)? I know how to calibrate my throttle lever on my simple joystick but I might prefer key presses for this. Can't test this myself because of PayPal... 😡

No not the  way  you  want  it,  but  you  can  assign  your  key board   to move  your  throttles  to  max,  or  by increments  etc

Adblock Plus works fine on my iPad. There should be a version for Android.

I think you misunderstood me Ray, I am very able to block adverts from Avsim, I have deliberately not (to the point I've added Avsim as an exception to my adblockers), because I know the advertising revenue is needed to run the site. Based on your response and your position as an Avsim staffer, it seems I should have no moral qualms about blocking Avsim ads? (sorry to go off topic btw).

Several mods have posted the same as me. 😉

I made another donation last month too balance things out.

Don’t worry about off topic. I’m sure normal service will resume quickly.

Now you touched something indeed I want to try. Mine goes to 1024MB.

I check that out. Thanks.

Well I had a bit more chance to test last night. Putting the displays on IGPU definitely helped with the display smoothness. I wish I hadn't brought the frame rate counter up though as I've got stuck down a rabbit hole of fixating on it now - I didn't realise it was quite as bad as it was!

20fps at Heathrow - with a fair amount of traffic mind you. Ouch..

I've now completed about 5 flights with the Fenix A320 and 15 flights with the PMDG 737-700. Have been simming for almost 18 years, including struggling with a 64mb Geforce 4 using only 2D panels for the FS9 PMDG 737/LDS767/PMDG 747 back in the day because the VCs couldn't handle it! Honestly, with a high end system right now MSFS 2020 + Fenix + PMDG is everything I could have ever dreamed of and more. It's the first time since FS9 days in my opinion that we have seen a massive step change. What a time to be alive!

You and I agree 100%.

That's why I find the posts bashing the dev and the product so depressing. These people wouldn't last 3 minutes in a sim where a cloud was between 1 and 10 1" square white blocks hanging in the air and the sidelines of the runway the only thing visible in a 30 mile radius. 😁

Leaving the fps counter on for too long is the road to madness. Smoothness is more important overall. I’ve also been quite deep into that rabbit hole…

I usually have it on only when I need to tune something (like graphics settings to keep a stable >=30fps).

Heathrow… I’d probably have to overclock with liquid nitrogen to be able to get decent performance here. It’s the worst place in the sim for me I think.

I had 2 on my only flight with the Fenix, because the METAR system changed the weather at the start of each hour, causing huge and sudden wind and pressure changes that stalled the plane in cruise.

Thanks I figured that might have been the case for the ones in cruise, though it would be nice if it didn’t cause the autopilot to disconnect (seems like one of those cases where a realistic action is too realistic for the sim environment).

Still not sure about the ballooning when I extended the flaps though.

And so its clear from my point of view, in no way am I advocating AVSIM get rid of adds because they "bother" me and sometimes win in the "safely clicking without accidentally hitting a strategically placed add" game.  I just want AVSIM to acknowledge its a real problem that impacts their viewers/supporters, and they are working to tone down the aggressiveness of this tactic, especially on hand held devices.

With that said Ray, I have the same thought as @ckyliu ...that purposefully using add blockers...if it is somehow reported back to advertisers that most, if not all viewers use them here and that negatively impacts the revenue AVSIM gets from them, then advocating their use by AVSIM staff seems counter-productive to the revenue stream coming from advertisers, right?

If advertisers can't monitor/track viewers from using them (from a "big brother" standpoint I'd hope not, but that is a whole other topic, LOL), then of course if you're a viewer that would rather read the content posted here by other simmers vs shopping for a Weber grill when you come to this site, you're gonna' turn on ad blockers. 🙂

And Heaven help you if you've let your wife or kids use your web browser for a few days...Took me weeks to get all the "special" sites my wife likes to shop at off my popup add list, 🤣  BTW....did you know just how many sales on marked-down clothing Nordstrom's Rack has on a weekly basis: Spoiler alert:  A LOT!

I only use the ad blocker that was mentioned earlier on my iPhone, as it’s near impossible to navigate the forums without it.

Most of the time I’m either using AVSIM on my PC or on my iPad. I haven’t had any issues with ads in these cases.

I'm sure this has been answered apologies but is anyone using the TCA Airbus throttle with the Fenix A320? Would you recommend? (e.g. throttle gates work, do the engine start switches work etc.?)

This has been discussed over in Hangar Chat or Letters to AvSim. I’ll say nothing more.

I've recently purchased the TCA Throttle and stick and they work with the Fenix A320. I did follow this video in getting it up:
