Interesting tweak to MSFS performance

Featured Replies

Did that one a couple of days ago - a definite reduction in microstutters, and it seemed to help with performance degradation over time too.

Not quite as life-changing as the OP on the MSFS forums described it, but definitive enough to 100% notice the improvement.

We should have a poll:

1. Tried and it works

2. Tried and it is snake oil

3. Tried and it broke stuff.

Seems all these magic fixes either are placebo or come with some downside.

I just checked my register, and  already have value of 4.... and never looked into?

how it is possible that default is value 2?

I have been running this for some time. Have never experienced slow-downs no matter how long the flight is. When I T/O and when I land is no difference for my FPS.

Absolutely worth a try and easy to revert.

Mine is already on 2. Haven't changed it myself.

One thing I've learned over the years with all these "tweaks" that flight simmers come up with; stay away. Always weird, unfounded drivel that some guy has some placebo performance boost with.

The video suggests to change the value from 2 (the default) to 4.

Ah sorry. I should have actually watched it..

The disabling of the Ndu service tweak has been around a long time and can actually increase performance of the system. The reason this works is because there is a conflict with a third-party network driver or software and the Ndu. The real fix is to update or remove the offending third-party network software. Just a guess. I could be wrong.

This was raised a month or two ago and can definitely help some people.
No major issues have been reported from running it.

I have used the .reg file to implement it - no issues.
I don't really get poor frames or stuttering anyway unless there is an obvious issue with scenery or an add-on.

Easy to revert anyway.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I have no stutters but checked the Registry anyway, it was already a 4. Probably set by a system optimizer program I've run.
