August 20, 20223 yr So i think to SU11 we also have a good working DX12, not perfect but good useable if NVIDIA acts fast.. cheers 😉 08.2024 new PC is online : ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI Mainboard, AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Prozessor, G.Skill DIMM 64 GB DDR5-6000 (2x 32 GB) Dual-Kit, MSI GeForce RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X E 24G OC Grafikkarte, 2x WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 4 TB - Drive C+D, WD Gold Enterprise Class 12 TB for storage HDD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W PC - Power supply, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO CPU Aircooler with 7 Heatpipes, Design Meshify 2 White TG Clear Tint Tower-Case, 3x 4K monitors 2x32 Samsung 1x27 LG 3840x2160, Windows11 Prof. 23H2 - now Windows11 Prof. 25H2 Flightsimulator Hardware: Honeycomb Throttle Bravo, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, Logitech Flight Joke System, XBox Controller, some Thrustmaster stuff, Winwing CDU Panels.

I took off from KJFK and flew over downtown NYC with a thick cloud layer, and everything was totally smooth on my seven-year-old system. Please note that if you currently have your options set to the DX12 beta, and you want to see how this update works for DX11 (for which it is intended), you'll have to set the option back to DX11 and reboot MSFS from scratch before the changes will take effect. I have my sim back now! 🙂 Can you compare it to DX11 in SU9 at all? SU9 really messed up my performance for some reason. I bought my new PC around the time SU8 was out and I was getting over fps 40 on ultra in NYC at 1440P. Now in SU9 dx11 I get about 25. Unfortunately the frame jump doesn't seem to apply to VR, still have the same fps. Will need to do some more testing though. Mark Not in VR... that is a shame. Will test soon. August 20, 20223 yr I would like to test this beta with Dx11 but honestly I am so good with Dx12 that I wouldn't go back to Dx11 unless a specific reason for that, like incompatibility of some addon, forced me to. I fly 90% Fenix, 5% 737, 3% Kodiak and the rest devided among various default aircfat and Dx12 is no problem, performance or stability wise. Game Mode on, GPU scheduling enabled (Win11). MSFS settings: High-End for airlines, Ultra for GA.
August 20, 20223 yr Running really smooth here in 4k DLSS Quality. Good enough for immediate release in my opinion. Intel Core i5-12600k, Nvidia RTX 4070 Super, 128 Gigs.
August 20, 20223 yr In VR: It seems a bitt less stuttery, lets say, it is buttersmooth between the stutters, with black/smeared-image on the peripheral field when panning. LOD terrain I can get higher now and LOD 100 is manageable but I still have it on 30 or so (very low). August 20, 20223 yr Quick question guys: i am reading on the Microsoft MSFS-forum that DX11 has obviously been optimised a lot and if i understood it right it runs better than with DX12? But on my system DX11 performs around the same than in the previous beta and when using DX12 i have massively more FPS (39-40 vs. 60 at the same place and situation beetween DX 11 and DX12). Can you confirm that for some users its better to use DX12? I'm having an 12900k and GTX 3090. i9 12900k, RTX 3090, 32GB RAM
August 20, 20223 yr Hi Folks. I am not really a techie, so, are all you folks talking about a beta version that is not yet available as an update? I mean the ones that we all get every so often. Also, if I may. I am assuming that my pc is using DX11 and most posts are mentioning DX12. Is DX12 tied to this beta? Or is it something that I can install? How would I know whether I am using DX11 or 12? Regards...Kenny. edit...I just searched online and then ran the dxdiag tool. My pc is using DX12. Edited August 20, 20223 yr by kenny584

I just tried swapping back to DX11, and the stuttering fest is back. Back to DX12. Looks like they are going to have a problem. AMD Machines seem to perform great on DX12, where as NVidia does not. And AMD or certainly in my case seems far worse on DX11 Edited August 20, 20223 yr by Car147 AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive

If they optimized multithreading you won't see any benefits in VR where the GPU is always the bottleneck. In VR you have a much much higher resolution, especially if you have a Reverb G2 or higher specs headset. You just need a more powerful GPU or use DLSS. 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber
August 20, 20223 yr DX12 is as good as DX11 for me. DX11 is about 4 degrees cooler than it was but still runs hotter than DX12. Will stick with DX12. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base

August 20, 20223 yr I'm on DX12, Nvidia 3060 Ti, Ryzen 5600x CPU, 32 GB RAM, Windows 11. Never had problems with DX12 in SU10 beta, including flights in the Fenix as far as from Frankfurt or London to Lisbon.
