Beta build 1.29.5.0 is now available for testers!

DX12 no longer overruns my GPU VRAM so that's an improvement. FPS seems more variable though - sometimes suddenly dropping to 30 FPS if I switch views and then coming back to 60 FPS after a few seconds. FPS between DX11 and 12 are almost exactly the same.

I gave FSR a try - it chops FPS in half even at the ultra performance setting and GPU VRAM is immediately overrun. Switching FSR off doesn't recover the VRAM and a sim restart is required to get things back to normal.

c'mon asobo...an rtx 4090 is not cheap to have to put up with you breaking things at every update.

Entitled much? You bought the first model in a just released new series of graphics cards you are using with beta software including an experimental DX12 implementation and you expected no issues? just because you spent £1500 on some hardware does not guarantee perfection in an experimental environment where everything is unproven. Step back from the beta and revert to DX11 and you should be fine. I wish I was in the position where I could just drop £1500+ on a card, my whole system didn't cost that.

I don't think it flushes the VRAM until it has to (to replace it with something else), so I think that is normal, so I wouldn't let it trouble you too much.

I see people really obsessing over the VRAM thing, but as long as you are getting generally good performance for the majority of the time, and you are enjoying the sim, that is the main thing.

I am now getting great performance, and all my CTD's have disappeared with this update, so I am happy.

Unfortunately performance tanked and stayed that way until a sim restart. Maybe AMD video card owners have a better experience?

I'm not fussed since DLSS is giving me good performance.

Same here!  Better than the SU5 optimisations actually.

The update seems to have changed my controllers. Did the same thing a few updates back.

Running AI still causes my FPS to drop after a bit of flying, so that is still an issue for me. This is with real-time traffic or FSLTL.

I don't know why some with such monter pc's are having issues, with my setup (see sig) this sim is soooo freaking smooooth even with DX12 (beta), not a single hicup, vsync at 40fps, with the exception of clouds at high, LOD 150, every other setting it in Ultra, live traffic, real time weather. Granted Im running a 27in monitor at 1080p resolution, that could very well be the difference.

You nailed it. Others having to render two to four times as many pixels depending on resolution is the reason.

It's because we don't know how to tune our graphics settings 🙂 Wow, that post by @David Mills recently was a bit harsh. I can still feel the sting from his blade, lol.

There is your answer... LOD 150. Sorry but that LOD looks like FSX and anything under 300 is not acceptable. cca 300 is the about the level of detail that was on release 150.

Well It may look like FSX in you machine but not on mine, and I still have 20/20 vision if you might ask. FS2020 looks gorgeous in my rig.

Running with DX12 and HAGS on has been nearly perfect. Very stable frametimes and in my case, better performance than DX11. I do use VR as well, and something weird happens with HAGS off… if my HMD is connected, my FPS literally half. Same scenario (fairly demanding scene with water, mountains, clouds, and rain) HAGS off, DX12 19-30 FPS (HMD connected). HAGS on DX12 45-57 FPS (HMD connected). DLSS+DLAA set for AA.
