FSLTL?

My aircraft use the "takeoff" sound when they are just taxiing.  I noticed it after the last world update.  Just now I reinstalled (updated) the latest FSLTL but the taxi sounds are still missing.  Soulds like it is just me as I would think this would be all ver the forums if others were seeing this.  Any ideas?

You could turn the Air Traffic volume slider down in the main Sound menu of MSFS.  I did that long ago as I always thought they were too loud....although I thought they mentioned the last update improved this??

could be parked at a near by airport

I hadn't actually considered this.  I wonder if that's the case.

The only thing that confuses me is that the injector specifically says the ICAO of the airport that the additional parked traffic is being used at.

Can anyone let me know why the injector will tell me that it’s injecting something like 12 additional parked aircraft and all I’m able to see is 1 or 2…sometimes around 4-5 max? Sometimes none at all will show.

For instance, just a few minutes ago running the injector at KASH and I see “KASH using max 12 additional parked aircraft” However, there were only 2 parked aircraft on the ramp.

I have my additional parked traffic set to 7…should I increase it? I’m just trying to populate smaller regional fields a bit more on the ground. The larger airports are perfect.

The FSLTL user guide explains it like this:

  • Additional Parked Aircraft - Sets the amount of static parked traffic at airports based on historical data for the ICAO. 0 for none, 10 for max, 2-3 recommended. ( number is scale linked to percentage of parking )
  • Absolute Parked Aircraft Max per Airport - Sets an absolute number of aircraft that will be used as additional parked aircraft at each airport. The number of parked aircraft will be the lesser of this value and the value the injector calculates from the Additional Parked Aircraft setting. This is useful to limit extra parked aircraft at large airports. The default is 30 (recommend) with a max setting of 100.

While specific numbers can be set in these parameter fields, the actual number of aircraft that show up are limited by percentage of parking spaces available. Logically, larger airports will have a greater number of these static aircraft while smaller airports will be quite limited and this seems to perfectly explain your experience ie  "..trying to populate smaller regional fields a bit more on the ground. The larger airports are perfect."

No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea.

Sorry Goose, but it's time to buzz the tower!

OK, this makes sense.  So just because the injector is says something like "14 max aircraft additional parking", doesn't actually mean there are that many injected.  In fact, it will always be less.  At least that's the way I'm interpreting that sentence.

Also keep in mind that at those smaller airports which is all GA types, FSLTL may not have models to use.

Contrails everywhere above EGLL (Heathrow) but nothing landing. Plenty taking off though.

Have you waited long enough?
I had the same experience at El Prat yesterday but after a while, the planes came in.

Saw multi contrails, maybe eight planes all in formation, parallel to each other. Two groups of eight going in different directions.

Seems like everything is always over done on first attempt, then it's backed off to something more realistic.

Worked fine for me before this last update.  Now I get a CTD every time I start the injector....oh well.  Back to traffic-less flying.

Maybe you have hit the max bgl limit introduced in the last sim update.  Try fsltl without some or all of your addons

Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

Something is definitely wrong with FSLTL on my system (8700K, 3080TI). I would do one flight without any problems, except reduced fps. Next flight starts out ok then during the flight the fps drops to 2.1, my gpu stats and memory drops to a quarter of what it was doing. Even after exiting FSLTL the sim is still in a side show even after fps and gpu goes back to normal. It recovers after about 10 minutes. I will be uninstalling it and wait for a fix or buy Just Flight FS Traffic.

Is the bgl limit now a permanent change?

I had no issues before but now I am having to really restrict my addon use in order to get AI traffic to work. I used to be able to load my UK airport ms but now I even need to be selective with the number of Uk airports at once

Yes, that is what I make of it too. I guess in simple terms what FSLTLT are doing is allowing the user to select an upper limit of the number of static aircraft that might be desirable at any given airport, as this might depend on what the users hardware performance can handle. Then, by recognising that this figure might look great at Heathrow, it would look silly at a small regional airfield. So, FSLTL have added a scaling feature based on the amount of parking at any given airfield and also I believe ICAO information regarding airfield usage, to reduce that number to something more sensible for smaller airports so the user doesn't have to do this for every airport. Seems like a really good feature!

Hello,

I've just updated FSTL (base and injector) and now I am seeing only generic liveries. MSFS settings as instructed. Any clues?

Hi,

After the update did you shutdown the computer and restart? Did you select the start button for the injector?
