Best Airliners for MSFS ?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Trying to find information on what the best airliners are for MSFS, since there are so many addons, sometimes from very bad devs, that I wanted to know based on those who know and have tried them, which is/are? the best of a certain model (when it even exists of course). The idea is to fill this list, with the version/dev that is the best (As of today at least):

Boeing:

737:

747:

777:

787:

Airbus:

A320:

A330:

A340:

A380:

Others:

CRJ?

MD?

Thanks in advance!

Add the A310 to your list.

ASUS Prime Z490-A / i7-10700K / RTX 4080 / G.SKILL Ripjaws 32GB / Lian-Li PC-O11 Dynamic case

A320: I can recommend the FBW A320neo. Its freeware, updated regularly and overall just a great plane to fly. I recently had some issues with stuttering which led me to my second recommendation:

PMDG 737. Started flying it some weeks ago and i just love it.It surely has its flaws but every other addon has them aswell.

So if you are a Boeing guy, go for the PMDG. If you are an Airbus guy i can only recommend FBWs 320 since its the only one i am using. The Fenix 320 seems to be great too but i don't have any experience on it.

Just my two cents.

Happy flying!

Edit: You can use FS2Crew with the FBW Neo which is a great addition!

Intel i9-13900K | Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Master | RTX4090 | 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000 | Be quiet! Pure Loop 2 FX AiO | Win 11

oeing:

737: PMDG excellent

747: There's salty Mod, but I haven't tried it

777: Nothing worth buying

787: There's a mod for the Asobo default 787, but haven't tried it

Airbus:

A320: Fenix excellent (FBW ones, too, but still in development)

A310: Microsoft/inibuilds new default one, very good

A330: Nothing I know about

A340: Nothing I know about

A380: Nothing I know about (FBW develops one, but will take some time)

Others:

CRJ? Just Aerosoft, half baked with many bugs

MD? MD-80 Leonardo Softhouse, port over, bad textures, not good support, way too expensive, can't recommend it

The 146 is a really nice one I’ve been returning to lately.

Fenix A320 in front of PMDG 737. It's the most modern one, flies IRL, works almost perfectly, and is fun to handle.

We're fools to make war on our brothers in arms.

Boeing: 737: PMDG 737-800 - not without tiny niggles, but it's the bees knees.

Airbus: A320: FlyByWire A320 (free!!!) - by far the best out there IMHO - and still being improved.

737-700 for its BBJ model as a start then Fenix A320.

I'm using "only" the Fénix A320 and the PMDG 737-600 as payware, and now since SU11 also the freeware A310.

I am more than good with these 3.

Am in the fence regarding the Mad Dog, because it was probably my preferred addon ailrliner for fs9, and later fsx too, but I no longer recall how to operate an MD-80 and am too old to learn 🙂

The A310 is now occupying most of my flight time in MFS. It is complex enough, and since yesterday's update - 1.29.30.0 - got even better.

I said it before, and I'll say it again: you don't need to spend a red cent if you want to fly great airliners in MSFS:

FbW's A320 (free)

Inibuilds A310-300 (free)

747 with Salty's Mod (free) https://github.com/saltysimulations/salty-747

787 with the Heavy Division Mod (free) https://github.com/Heavy-Division/B78XH

I'd wait for PMDG to fix the most glaring flaws in their 737 lineup - no proper Simbrief integration, no EFB, substandard jpeg textures (especially glaring if you're coming from the free inibuilds A310 - before buying it.

Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

A310 hands down have'nt flown anything else since it's out.

Definitely add the Just Flight BAE146 to the list - fantastic aircraft.

Ryzen 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB, Win 11. MSFS2020. Moza, MFG, Fulcrum & Virpil controllers. Quest 3 for VR.

A 320 by Fenix is the best I have seen.

It should be noted that the A310 does not attain feature parity with the X-Plane version, and intentionally so (failures, ground handling and a few other things are missing). But as a taster for the A300-600 port it's pretty good.
