"The storage device might be missing or disconnected" is the er... clue... here. That looks like a disk issue. Have you checked the system logs?

The message is not a MSFS error. It is an error telling you that your computer cannot even find MSFS to load it.

That disk... is useless. Get a new one and then go fly.

Just made another flight into the NYC area, and got another CTD as I was getting down toward the ground.  Would someone be able to help me if I posted log info?  In Win11, where/what would I look for?

I'm not getting a CTD, just a freeze at Free Flight no matter what the aircraft or the location. The stupid music keeps playing.

Had this earlier this week, downloaded another 128GB of data to have it temporarily work for a morning, now back to the same brokenness.

I've never had such a terrible version of MSFS or p3D.

I make simFDR, the most advanced flight data recorder for FSX, Prepar3D and X-Plane.

Get rid of all the fluff third party apps GSX etc it'll make your life for the better.

I haven't had a CTD in almost a year and a half. I fly about 14 flights a week for a VA, all over the world, in the Fenix.

Unfortunately for me, the Fenix is about the only plane that gives me CTDs regularly.

The level of anxiety whether it’ll CTD on final due to lack of memory was of epic proportions, no matter the length of the flight. Nail biter every time.

Yup, the dreaded ping ping ping in FSX, warning you of impending doom. Often at the end of a very long flight, just before touchdown.

When you have you're next CTD, go open up Logbooks (just type logbook in the search bar). Look under Windows_logbook/Applications. Go through the errors and see if any are related to MSFS, around the time it happened.

Can you also describe what you are doing when the CTD happens? Is it consisted happening at landing?

What flight/plane are you on?

Are you in MSFS safe mode?

Any particular scenery?

Could you post your specs: GPU, CPU, RAM, SCREEN RESOLUTION?

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

No CTD's at all a word not allowed long time now, the last days i did several longhaul flights ( 6 to 10 hours ) all around the world with no CTD's.

Pretty stable for me..

cheers 😉

Maybe MSFS is stable but the computer isn't.
It could very well be your hardware being rogue or overused.
Check if you have an eventually overclock setting en switch it to default.
You might turn down your in-game settings a bit too since it could be taxing your PC too much.
