Is Frame Generation Good For MSFS?

Make sure you have a gsysnc compatible monitor though as a minimum when using frame gen.  Without that you'll get weird vsync tearing and artifacts.

yeah I got one already

I am crying in 3090....

Meh that's an awesome card.  I wouldn't spend the money on a 40xx card if I had that.  I came from a 1080ti hehe so it was well worth it.  With hardware someone always has a more powerful component than you, nearly the moment you bought it LOL.

It is, and I’m not complaining, but it does seem that frame generation really is more of a leap than the 3 series are over the 2 series.

Think I can be patient until the 5 series though…

Aren't the 5 series about 1.5 to 2 years away though?

I think a 7800X3D (or 13600K/13700K) + 4090 would be a nice plateau to sit on for the next 2 years.  I mean I can't see anything coming out in the next year that would make me want to upgrade from that.  Raytracing?  I'm covered, if they expand on that in the sim.

I have a 3090 and I can get 30fps nearly everywhere with setting virtually maxed out and I let my Samsung 4KTV take care of the frame generation for 60fps on screen with no blurry CDU's or any other image degradation.😁

Intel Core i9-10900K at 5.2GHz, Corsair H115i PRO, ASUS MAXIMUS XII HERO Z490, G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 15-16-16-36, ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3090, SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2 2280 1TB x 3, Corsair HX Series HX1000 Watt PSU, Pimax Crystal LIght.

As I have both a 3090 (left view pc ) and 4090 (front view pc ).

if you use settings that allow you to stay safely above 30 fps ( 50% vsync /60 hertz ) than a 3090 is a very good card.

Only with fast turns the 4090 is smoother because of the interpolation that doubles the framerate.

Yes. Unequivocally. 4x series is 100% better than 3x series nvidia. That’s a fact. It’s double the frames.

not double the frames whilst using TAA…

Wait, do I need to use G-SYNC to avoid tearing? I've got a coulpe of 50" TV's I wanted to use with a 4090. With my 3090 I just limit frames with VSYNC.

You think with a TV and no GSYNC I'll get tearing with frame gen on?

Of course it is. That’s the whole point in the technology, it It’s always doubles the frame rate. If I get 30 using TAA, then it doubles to 60. (I rarely get that low btw, that’s worst case scenario. Imagine 60fps being your worst case scenario?!)

I spent the same on my RTX 4090, plus tax.

I don't observe that on my 6 year old 60 Hz 55" TV, has no fancy whatever sync.

the only mode that doesn't work with FrameGeneration is VR, unfortunately.

not if you have a 4090, for the next 2 years 😊

4090 laughs at MSFS and at 3060.

if you run @ 4k resolution or VR, 3060 will stop laughing. 😊

I'm quite happy with my 2080. Frames locked at 30, don't need more.
