June 25, 20232 yr Moderator I think it’s important to remind ourselves LM aren’t the best at promoting their sim. Look at how the whole world’s terrain was vastly improved over v4 in v5. Yet, it hardly got a mention. in the early days I was still using Ultimate Terrain X for Europe, NA and the Caribbean. Then out of curiosity I did some comparison shots between UTX enabled and disabled. It was then I discovered UTX was redundant. LM had brought P3D right up to date. We had detailed coastlines worldwide. And it wasn’t just Europe or NA that got the treatment. The whole world had. Places like South Korea now looked just as good as anywhere else. These enhanced cities and airports have only been seen in fleeting moments and just a few of course. They could turn out to be significant improvements. I can’t see the missiles being available in the Personal version. Pro and Pro + only I imagine. I’m sure they will address the problem of so few parking positions too. And as for Andrew Wilson’s post saying “At this time, we have not made any commitments to support P3D v6.” that’s just a holding reply. I’d be amazed with Concorde now in beta they didn’t make it v6 compatible. After all, it was originally going to be v4 and v5 compatible but they dropped v4 during v5 development. My guess is it will be compatible with v5 and eventually, v6. From what a trusted source had revealed third party aircraft are compatible without any configuring required. That only applies to those he owns of course. Ray (Cheshire, England). June 25, 20232 yr No, P3D lost the consumer market ONLY because MSFS "is beautiful". 13600KF - AIO - 32GB DDR4 - RTX4070 - UW1440p GSync - USB DAC - 2TB NVMe - Windows 11 Pro - Gladiator NXT EVO - 1 Gbps Fiber - MSFS 2024

Not going to risk going on holiday by talking about graphics in another sim. Intel i7 6700K @4.3. 32gb Gskill 3200 RAM. Z170x Gigabyte m/b. 28" LG HD monitor. June 25, 20232 yr What breakes this announcement for me is that most airports are already incompatible in V5, especially with Dynamic Light's and incorrect elevation's. I habe absolutely no hope about any V6 updates from addon developers, so will stay at 4.5. It has absolutely anything I can wish for in any civil flight simulation.

That's interesting, if it's a reply from an actual LM representative at flight expo. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

This sim hasn't been released yet. And they are saying things will be backwards compatible so v5 stuff should work with v6.

Yet they make the statement while in person at a convention geared to the home sim user. I was hoping to be "wowed" by their announcement. I viewed it with an open mind. But I think V6 is a let down. June 25, 20232 yr Interesting post from Andrew at FSL: Quote Our customers who have since migrated to MSFS (a significant proportion) could equally put forward a similar argument. Our business decisions are not engineered around customer loyalty - they are built upon market research and ROI. Like it or not, the community base using P3D is reducing rapidly and this latest release from LM will not alter this trajectory.
