July 4, 20232 yr On the Facebook post Parallel 42 posted again:Parallel 42 Staying in business is a great way to treat our customers. It ensures your P3D //42 products continue to authenticate and work. Thank every single user that bought anything from us in MSFS, they are carrying the weight of keeping even something as basic as support for Prepar3D products available to you. It's not personal... That's our final statement on the matter. Thanks! That's our final statement on the matter. Thanks! That just means that he will make sure that his P3D products already out work in v4 and v5. Which means he is still dropping v6. If you ask me pointless statement. I already know, that I won't have Chaseplane in v6. The immersion packages I can past on, they are not the most essential, but good camera add-on is very essential to me, because I do YT videos with it.
July 4, 20232 yr When 5.3 updated to 5.4, didn't someone try CP and got it to work except the transitions between internal and external cameras were not smooth or some other minor issue? Has anyone actually attempted to install CP into v6 via the registry tweak/hack? Yes, I suppose it is sad in its way but has it occurred to you that what’s actually happened is this guys customers in 3PD have dropped him. All third party developers have reported that sales in 3PD fell off a cliff when MSFS 2020 was announced. As Ray would say “this isn’t an opinion, this is a fact’. What are these people to do? Create new stuff for 3PD that no one is going to buy? Most of these developers are small businesses. Are they to remain in business or become a charity and effectively go to work for free? Have these developers deserted the people who enabled them to start up in the third party business? No. They’re now making stuff for those very same people. It’s just the vast majority of these same people have moved on to another platform. To remain in business the third party guys have no choice but to follow their customers. Thats about all there is to it.
July 4, 20232 yr If the MSFs devs are to be believed in the most recent video they have nearly 11 million copies of MSFS on PC and XBOX systems.....that sums up the situation and economics for 3rd party devs. I still have P3Dv5 installed and just haven't gone near it for over 2 years.....I'm time limited due to work....and I still have Aerowinx's PS747 installed and haven't been near that even longer.

They acknowledged where they came from in their announcement.. you just don't like where they're going. They're going where they need to go to make money. They're a business that, like all businees, is there to make money. You don't make money by creating products that aren't going to sell. July 4, 20232 yr I'm surprised no one is mentioning the immersion packages. They defiantly enhanced the immersion of the aircraft. July 5, 20232 yr 6 hours ago, Ray Proudfoot said: This decision is bizarre. Unlike other developers who are prioritising the other sim this one doesn’t have a gateway into it. Hasn’t for nearly three years. I’ve seen nothing about things changing on that front. Has anyone else? So more or less zero sales and no new product on the way. He’s in a league of his own. It wouldn’t surprise me to see //42 chase plane included by default in msfs 2024. That’s how Asobo is doing business: don’t invent the wheel again if someone already have done it. Just bring him into the crew. That’s what they already have done with WT for exemple. and that could explain why //42 has to abandon P3D. Not only would they have their hands full for the next months but also their future could be brighter instantly with a lucrative contract.
July 5, 20232 yr Statement from Edson Carlos the CEO of Parallel 42 regarding their decision on FB: Quote Stephen Butka ChasePlane has been supported for 8 years, without a single charge for an update ever. In fact, the price was even permanently lowered as the P3D userbase shrinking accelerated. "Let's make it more affordable for the remaining few!" we thought. I guess this is our thanks! Glad to also see our MSFS users standing up to say their kind words for our pivot and adoption to the new platform. We sold more for MSFS today on ONE distribution platform, than the total across all distributors for an entire month+ in P3D products. By my raw calculation, every single MSFS user deserves a "Thank You" from about 4\500 unique P3D users for keeping their apps alive and available this long.
