strange i must be missing lots of  updates if there is one every day

Well not every day but there are a lot so if you have been away from the sim for a week or so you do have to check for updates because more likely than not there will be one.

  • Do you think, considering all the multiple customization settings in GSX, that it would be reasonable to expect the seated passengers would be forced on you ? In fact, it's rather an opt-in feature: t

And I just LOVE how GSX is being incorporated into Fenix, PMDG and FS2Crew.

The FSL A321 integration is good. You don't use the GSX menu, actions are triggered in a realistic flow via the ATSU menu on the MCDU. For example, when you submit OFP data to the AOC, a fuel truck is summoned.

I gave up on GSX a few months ago with a reinstall of Win 11 as all these years later it still would not open correctly necessitating killing Couatl and restarting it. I use Self Loading Cargo and it hijacks default pushback so that you can give commands to turn or stop that are followed immediately unlike the big delay with default and it works just great.  GSX a significant part of the time would do the strangest maneuvers like suddenly spinning 180 degrees in a spot where a simple pushback could have easily been done, its ground crew walking thru equipment, when I used the GSX command to STOP the straight pushback after say 30 feet the ground crew continues its walk back 100 feet and I told the dev about this a year ago and no fix.  I immediately checked the boxes to make sure PAX did not actually load into the plane as performance sucked and have no need to watch that happen anyway.   And the program needed updated practically every day so you have to run that laboriously long updater every time.

I had hopes after seeing the 2024 trailer with animated PAX walking down the jetway that they might include this somehow but alas not so far and it makes me wonder why they did that in the video--perhaps it will be added some time I would love to see MSFS incorporate some of the attributes of GSX natively they could do it easily.

It does work on the Just Flight Avro RJ however to see said passengers in the aircraft is another matter! That feature only works on aircraft purchased outside of MS Marketplace.

I consider that Gsx was for me a useless waste of money...

The only time GSX ever does this, is when it does an automatic pushback without any profile, purely based on the underlying airport data, which most of the time has bugs or simply nodes placed without much reasoning. And in some situations (like last spots in a closed terminal) it's impossible to do an automatic pushback.

This is always fixed by either using an airport profile where custom pushback routes has been set for this problematic areas OR by using the QuickEdit pushback, which means you are setting up a custom profile on the fly.

WIth a custom pushback route, GSX is completely unaffected by the underlying airport data, and so it works 100% of the time.

Is there any way to use GSX just to make the airports more lively and lived in with baggage carts and buses serving the AI aircraft?

I don’t really have the inclination for all the boarding my own passengers and sorting that out.  But like to see more happening out the window.

As far as I know you can't. GSX cannot work with AI aircraft. It's a sim-limitation. As far as I know. Maybe @virtuali can explain further? (or correct me) 🙂

Anyone getting stuck on the gsx building cache screen with the latest sim update?

Just reinstalled my windows for the first time in 5 years so I have a feeling it might be anti virus related but did add exceptions and turn it off, still nothing.

SU3 MSFS 2024, probably something to do with my new set up but I did see someone has posted the same issue in the FSDT forums

That begs the question:  is it possible GSX can be coded to recognize it's in one of those pushbacks doomed for 180 degree sudden rotation and change it to a simple pushback, back 50' then turn the direction you prompt for, or something along those lines?  Rather than do that spinning thing.  It's a nasty immersion killer.  As is the fact when I opt to stop the 100' pushback before its 100' point, for example at 40', the ground crew continues marching back all 100', which just delays sequencing for no good reason.

Never had an issues.

Make sure you use the profiles and your good to go.

I like the fact that the iFly 737 Max includes a bunch of ground service options that provides enough immersion for me. It's got external power, airstairs (including a built-in version), catering trucks, luggage carts, orange cones, and I can add a panel state that includes all of this stuff so it's just there at the push of a couple of buttons. And it has a push back option that allows you to specify distance and degrees. I dunno what I'm missing.  I'm surprised more 3rd party airliners don't include this kind of stuff.

GSX yes or no? Per OP question? Yes.

Lots of opinions on here. As usual.

Despite a bug here/there (rare) I have found GSX to be immersive and helpful. There was a time that PMDG and the gsx tug weren't communicating but I worked around that. Most IFR planes come with their own profile or you can find one. Just note there is a performance hit with visible passengers but that should be obvious.

Would never fly without it.
