What A2A will likely do next after the Comanche

Featured Replies

Business-wise the Cessna 172 likely makes the most sense to do next if A2A wants to "strike while the iron is hot", and customer interest and curiosity is at its peak.

Also, for the following reasons:

1. Before competition develops
2. Prior experience to developing the 172. Manual is basically done
3. Employee attrition (before anyone quits, retires, or dies off)
4. Before technology changes (eg. MSFS SDK)
5. The popularity of the 172 as a trainer
6. Lots of customers still with unspent funds for the hobby
7. Quick development can be timed with release of MSFS 2024

Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space.
Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).

Aerostar would be my choice...always wanted a decent Aerostar in flightsim...and its new to A2A...next choice would be the 182, T-6 or Cherokee 180.  Let's face it though I will even get an A2A flying carpet

Yeah, Aerostar. 172? Snorefest. Let's get something we haven't seen from A2A at all.

I believe Scott's Aerostar was written off in an emergency landing ( had to belly in because the gear wouldn't lower ). Nobody hurt, thank goodness, but it means that A2A no longer has one to use for research. I'd put money on the T-6 or Cessna 182 as the next release.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

As long as it isn't military anything is ok with me. I don't use military aircraft in this sim, so I wouldn't buy it, even if it was an A2A.

With a few exceptions ( Dave Garwood's Hunters, JF's Hawk and forthcoming Vulcan ) I tend to agree with you.

I had the C 172 in P3D, and I learned to fly when I got my PPL on the C 152 and c 172. I flew the 172  a few times, and quickly tired of it. Then I got the Comanche and the T6. never touched the C 172 again.

If its a 172 i will probably skip it, even irl they are the most boring aircraft on the ramp.  A twin from a2a would be heaven.  Personally the comanche satisfies all my desires for a piston single.

I'm very curious about this as well. If they go for a new aircraft it'll probably be the Aerostar, if not...I don't know. T-6 maybe? V-Tail Bonnie? Who knows if we will even see most of their previous planes im MSFS (I'm really hoping for the B-17).

We already have a 172 for the sim.  Although it's not to the standard of A2A but it's there.  Doing the same aircraft over and over in the sim is a hard pass for many.  Here's some options A2A would do an amazing job with:

1. PA42

2. PA31T

3. PA46

4. C441

Looking at A2A's website, their options are a little thin for the aircraft they've offered for sims in the past.  For MSFS it's time to expand.  Again, I can't understand some people wanting the likes of 10 different 172's from different developers when there's so much out there to create.🍺

IIRC i read somewhere on the A2A forums that they have enough data to finish the Aerostar...the hulk looks to be in their hangar as it appeared in one of their Comanche videos

I’m all in for their Civilian Mustang. It’s got just enough avionics and is just a tad challenging to fly, but is a helluva fast and maneuverable “GA” aircraft.

1000 mi range, 300-ish kts cruise, 40,000’ ceiling, fully aerobatic - what’s not to love?

P.s.: the turboprop T-6 Texan II they built for the USAF ❤️
