BMW/AMSim screenshots of KDAB were really good as well. Then upon buying, the warts show up. Sparkling and twinkling blue taxi edge lights that looks absolutely horrendous until very up close to them. Overhead lights that do the same thing, immersion killing. The racetrack next door that’s lit up every single night like it’s daytime even though in reality it’s less than 15 nights a year. I could go on but suffice to say, never again from them.

Sad but understandable. MSFS is a. Money maker but it also means that more people are coming to the feast. So you need to have a bigger team and work fast to overtake your opponents. Sadly it will often mean than a dev will reduce quality to release sceneries quicker. Flytamoa has a small team and will find it more difficult. George said that the project was 60% done but if they come last to the feast, they will only find bones on the plate.

well I’m gonna wait for FsimStudios, they probably will have the best rendition of the three projects remaining

Wise move by FT…the days of sitting on an airport in development for years and being able to “reserve” that airport seem to be gone which is generally a good thing for all of us.

Given we’ll soon have three to choose from there should be something to keep everyone happy.

Agree...the market has changed since the days of FSX/P3D.  The well known airport developers were used to taking their time since they knew there was zero competition. Although their airports are always fantastic (Flightbeam, FlyTampa, etc), taking 2+ years to do an airport now isn't going to cut it in this new world where other developers can do these large airports in a few months.  I am amazed how multiple versions of some of these airports are in the works and pretty much done at the same time like CYUL and KPHL.

Just got the BMWorld/AmSim's version (there's two out now on Orbx's site as discussed here).  Got this one because it looks like they did a good job with the corporate ramp for my Longitude flights into the airport.🍺

I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts on performance.  I haven’t bought any of theirs yet but that seems to have been a concern with previous products.

Performance on my end is not that much different than default.  They did a great job in the limited time I had to check out the scenery.  I want to trying flying in and out of the scenery to give a full assessment but so far so good.🍺

What a terrible week for my CPU to start dying

I've been waiting since MSFS was released for my province's main airport so I was too excited and got the MK Studio one yesterday and just got the BMWorld one that I heard here, it is better... Time to compare...

Edit:
MK Studio version is good for the price. But has a plain aspect to it when it comes to the surrounding facilities... The only thing I prefer in MK Studio are the terrain subtle variations like the ditches they created just like in real life... It removes the flat aspect of the terrain outside the concrete areas...

BMWorld CYUL is more detailed than MK Studio in general. I noticed a couple of glitches like missing textures on rwy / twy signs and a floating roof unit. They added static road vehicles on the main central road that are just on one portion of it actually and I do not think it is the best idea

I just wish BMWorld reproduce the ditches and subtle airport ground variations MKStudio have...

BMW and MKS are both about $18 US.

MKS inflates to 5.1 GB

BMW inflates to 2.7 GB

The above is going by the Orbx Central sales page. I was waiting for Fly Tampa but now: See You Later.

I have not purchased any CYUL. Waiting for more reports here...

Just based on the GB size, I think BMW will probably give higher fps.

I'd be curious to see how the two products compare in winter with remaining snow on runways and taxiways after it was cleared, and winter "looks" in general. As Gilles Vigneaux sang "my country is not a country it's winter" (approximate translation), I have a feeling this is where we will see a real difference.
