As for painting....  a 3d paint kit down the road a little hopefully!

The plane itself is quite lovely.  Nice sounds, beta range, exquisite tablet.

Store version. When I try to make a purchase (M500) the marketplace tells me the is another purchase pending and to give it a few minutes. Can’t find any pending purchase to cancel. So it then closes the attempted purchase of the M500. Bizarre.

Have you tried starting your sim not in ADMINISTRATOR mode?

No. I will give it a try tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm positive it will fix it, ask me how I know 🤣

How is the performance (FPS) compared with the FSW C414 for those with weaker systems? @Bert Pieke did you try it? My system is similar to yours.

Thanks.

Really well simulated, tablet has some really neat features I haven't seen before (won't ruin the surprise).

Hand flies very nice, greased my first landing, beta range works well.

I was a little surprised by it's climb speed, I am seeing in the neighbourhood of 1100-1300fpm @ 140-145 knots from various sources on the internet.  Climbing to 17,500ft tonight I was only getting about 700 fpm @ 115 knots with torque just under the redline.  Maybe the 140 knot figure is true airspeed?  I was around 4500lbs, so ~600 lbs below MTOW.

Here's one link...they say they selected 145 knots so that tells me it's referring to KIAS?

https://www.flyingmag.com/aircraft-turboprops-we-fly-piper-meridian-m500/

"Climb-out is impressive by little airplane standards. We selected 145 knots and saw a rate of climb of around 1,300 fpm on the standard day — we were light, around 4,500 pounds..."

It was high 20's in Celsius so perhaps that's why I saw slower climb performance?

All in all a very well done aircraft, congrats to @simbol on the release.

The best climb speed is at FLC set for 125kts.

That's how the real pilot flies it IRL. Check the documentation, we put there the best way to climb which is starting at 125kts then 130kts then 135kts. Cannot remember entirely, I go flat out 125kts.. remember you lose torque as you climb, you need to keep adjusting the power as you go higher.

Best,

Raul

So far the plane is pretty good. I loved the intro & welcome message where you get to set up your options, that was a neat touch.

The beta range is wonderfully simulated. There was one glitch where I canceled the fuel truck because it seemed to just be hanging out there, and when I did, the fueling nozzle was stuck in the wing. I called the fuel truck again, let it run its sequence, and it disappeared.

I do wish the camera sequencing was "off" by default. Took a sec to figure out what was going on lol. I took it up and did some maneuvers too. Slow speed regime was a bit weird...kinda touchy. Not in comfortable way, it reminded me of the Justflight pipers when they first came out. It could have been the enhanced stall protection, but I don't know for sure since I've never flown a plane with that feature. With the yaw damper engaged, there was no wing drop, which was cool. With it off, the wing dropped nicely.

It handles well. On takeoff, there was a slight crosswind of around 6 knots or so, and unfortunately, it suffers the MSFS ground control problem. I'm sure if I had better rudder pedals, it wouldn't have been as pronounced.

The G1000 integration is very nicely done.

Sounds are also a win.

I've only been flying it in VFR day so far, and am currently in a flight around Hawaii. So far, it's a great plane, and it makes me wish Black Square took the extra time to add some of the 'nice to have' features that this plane does (and it costs less too). Still love Black Square though.

For ~$35, I'm happy with it so far.

Glad you are enjoying it!  Check out the manual for some thoughts on the ground handling issue and rudder pedal configuration (which makes a big difference). Much effort was put into finding the optimal values to try and counter the ridiculous MSFS weathervane effect, but there were limits to how this could be mitigated. Not without going down the unrealistic route of eliminating crosswind effect altogether.

Interestingly my rudder sensitivities were very close to what the manual recommends...I was a little under -30 so I set it there as recommended.

Flew from KVRB and that airport had a nasty crosswind, rwy 04 was getting winds at 10 kts out of 70 deg but gusting to 17.  I did a bit of a pedal dance on takeoff but nothing I'm not used to with MSFS.  I actually find the ground handling to be good, considering the sim, and it felt better than most airplanes.  I know "feeling" better is kind of non-helpful, but that's my story so I'm sticking to it.

The way they've implemented beta range is neat.  It basically is taking the bottom-end of your throttle and making it beta.  I wish I had an actual detent on my Honeycomb Bravo though.  I had sweety-pie yell at me a couple of times for gear when I was in descent, because I dropped throttle too low.   Since part of your throttle range is taken up by beta range, you end up with a compressed throttle range in effect, where just a tiny change gives a big change in throttle.   I don't know if this is good or bad yet.  Also, I had to hunt around for beta vs. normal even keeping an eye on the PFD and listening for the click.

Taxi with beta is what I'm used to with other turboprops, i.e. using beta range to save brakes, this implementation works well.  It got away from me a couple of times but I'll learn it.

Anyway, this airplane is good...very good...excellent...one of those where you fly it 20 times and have 20 different experiences.   Raul...good grief man, this is wonderful.

Really enjoying the plane so far...there is a lot of detail to take in, just sitting on the tarmac powered off! Excellent textures inside and out. Definitely feels like some convincing flight model overall with some sense of weight to the aircraft but still nimble to fly. ALL Sounds are really good...I absolutely loved the gear up sounds in particular...really adds to immersion. You can almost feel the "thump" as the gear tucks in! Prop noise from starter through cruise is really convincing...It shows the blacksquare TBM really needs to tend to the engine / prop noise. This really has it beautifully done.

A couple of things I noticed but must check further into:

1. beta--definitely needed given the power of the turbine connected to this airframe. I'm using a Honeywell Bravo quadrant and for me the beta seems to only kick in after several seconds. I had this on the TBM too so it could be a hardware config thing. Also, beta was either full reverse or not but again, maybe this is a honeywell bravo config thing. (welcome ideas, if any)

2. Using FSRealistic, I noticed that the head movement was not working. The aircraft was shaking from the turbulence but it was as though the camera was fused to the cockpit frame...ie the effect was lost. Rebooting to see if this rectifies, not sure if anyone else has had this.

For me performance in terms of FPS was totally fluid, no issue...certainly on par with fps for the 414.

Okay just to update...reboot fixed whatever the FSRealistic thing was...totally working normally.

And I'm not sure exactly the issue with beta but it is my hardware, not Raul's masterpiece!

I have to say I just find it to have the right feel and, even though I love the TBM for it's mixed glass and retro gauges and everything about it, this one is at an unbelievable level. It is the most realistic looking, performing, sounding, and feeling single turboprop I have experienced in MSFS for sure.

WOW. Thank you, Raul for this amazing aircraft. (I already can't wait for the PHENOM lol)
