Fenix block 2 delayed [31 October 2023]

Haha! I guess he views it as "It's better to have things not simulated versus things incorrectly simulated" and that's I guess a fair stance. In any case, if Fenix hasn't worked on WXR yet I don't see them starting on it with MSFS 2024 (and the new weather enhancements) less than a year away. 😥 Obviously baseless speculation as I have never sat in on one of their internal dev meetings, but why spend money on something that Asobo will implement in a few months for you?

Maybe our back and forth is amusing enough for Aamir to chime in with an answer, though 😂

Probably more like, "better to have things not simulated versus only partially simulated." Aamir stated that it's currently not possible, at least for them, to implement MSFS's weather radar as that would cause a lot of issues (performance, etc). My guess is it's due to the fact that their displays are processed differently than ones from PMDG, Flythemaddogx, etc.

I think I read whole thread but  but not a single word about Engine sound! Is it only me or you are all happy with it? To me it sounds like ATR (actually ATR sounds better).

Engine start OK, could be better but acceptable,

Switches, APU sound, GPU, ground OK, TAXI so so but take off, cruise, descend.... to me totally unrealistic and questionable.

If I compare PMDG p3d vs PMDG MSFS, sound is same if not better. But for someone who spent 1000hrs in FSL this is way out wack. Again it could be me. I would like to hear more from all of you that used FSL in P3D. And this is not "bashing or criticizing" product by any means. Just would like to hear more people on this topic.

Other than that it's bird is OK. Texture is fine and whole experience is on acceptable level, whatever our personal expectations are. Indeed FBW is simulated exactly how it supposed and unlike 737 that needs constant trimming (737)...which is fine by me. Two same planes but totally different.

Anyway, would like to hear about engine sounds and what do you guys think. Or even better if I missed that. Is that maybe a plan in the next update?

Cheers....

Wait these guys are talking again on their own disclosed discord about updates? 😒

Sound is highly subjective, which is why third party sound packs exist.

Personally, I think the current Fenix sound pack is fine. If you want to try something different, here's an alternative:

Well, thanks. You are right it could be very subjective. However it is a big difference between FSL (P3D) and fenix at MSFS. Also, link that you sent, regarding engine sound, it's mostly from outside not from cockpit. That's what I meant by being "bad". Will definitely wait to see and compare when available.

I always thought FSLabs sounds were way over rated.  They did a great job at spatial sounds and that kind of thing.  But there was always this weird sound that didn't sound like the many delta cfm flights I had on A319/320/321's.

Any news about Block 2 on their Discord ? Last update spoke about weeks away...? That was about a month ago.

End of February seems to be what they are implying, but they have been burnt before by giving estimates so this is purely my own personal understanding of what they have said in there over the last few weeks.

A little update now and then, without naming  expected day/month, would really be nice. This total silence about the update is irritating.

Kind regards,

They haven't been implying anything, where did you get that from? They've clearly stated they will from now on never ever again state any sort of time references.

Total silence? They've given a rather thorough update 4 weeks ago. And they are constantly replying on Discord to people asking how it's going and what they are working on at the moment. I'd like to have a bit more personally, too, but they haven't been totally silent at all.
