New screenshots of the upcoming FBW A380

It looks a bit ugly, which means it is realistic!

Those mighty wings share the DNA for an even larger version, the never built -900...

Whatever, I look a bit ugly too when I gain another 5kg from Christmas cookies. 😄 This 380 will become an absolute masterpiece, every screenshot is pure art. This A380 will maybe even get the rare Fenix-worthyness-certificate no aircraft was able to achieve so far, which means being on the same level of quality as the Fenix Airbus.

But what is even more impressive seeing this art in motion: There are videos with these engines and wings perfectly realistic wobbling and flexing on the runway, and close-up videos showing the whole cockpit in all it´s glorious details (but without functional MCDU of course, because this vid is about ~6 months old.)

The MCDU seems to be partially or fully finished now. Very good because the lower ECAM with all the electrics and hydraulics and fascinating technical stuff going on there, and the MCDU are the most interesting areas of the cockpit.

Nice aircraft.

But my last experience with the FBW was a very unreliable VNAV and LNAV - so i dont know what the A380 should be better than the A20N which is - IN MY OPINION - really not good usable?

Indeed, it was very unreliable. Hope this one can fly.

I did 2 flights yesterday will no issues.

Hoping we get the A380 next year. I thought it would come along sooner since in 2021 around this time they had that downloadable static A380 on their custom FBW airfield.

Going to be my #1 flown plane once it's out.

Superb news!  It's coming on a bundle, and here is a stunning new picture of the flightdeck and instrumentation, with Onboard Airport Navigation System (OANS).

Looks great, and I can't wait to try it!

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

The new screenshot of the cockpit looks mighty good! Here's the full-res photo from discord:

"We have made good progress on the A380X in the last few weeks, namely an integration of our custom made FMS together with the appropriate pilot interface in the multi function display (MFD), the integration of the Onboard Airport Navigation System (OANS), and various improvements on all instruments. Keep an eye on our YouTube for a progress update soon!"

I’m still amazed that this is actually going to be freeware. How lucky are we as a flightsim community to have such a dedicated and talented group of creators giving us this for free. I have no words. Just amazing.

So much new media recently, I wonder how close the first public release is.

The Github is public FYI, you can follow along with the coding if you understand that stuff. You can also technically download the aircraft, minus the art assets so kind of pointless unless you want to look at all the stuff offline.

If there was a Nobel Prize for flight sim add-ons, I know where it would be going.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

Whats going on - all developers are very good in making youtube-videos, big announcements and marketing - the products still have yet to be released. It becomes boring.

Amazing! I'm really looking forward to this and IniBuilds A350 (are they developing an A380 as well?).

Thanks for the update.

If they do the cabins to the same standard as that cockpit, I'd happily pay PMDG prices for this. Lovely cockpit, but wasted on me. Won't stop me grabbing a copy though.
