So to answer your question who is buying turbulence? People who want a more realistic experience other than the predictable turbulence flying over the Rockies into Denver. I remember I flew a through a hurricane once in MSFS and it was smooth as butter. 🙄 FSRealistic is the reason why people think turbulence is fine. I'm on a plane every week in real life and to me There's nothing immersive about stock MSFS turbulence in airliners.

It isn't childish, there's probably a legal reason. 3 hours ago, fluffyflops said: just today I put the fbw 320 in cruise, i go off to to the dentist, then come back to warning sounds and all sorts from the a/p being disconnected due wind shifts and it had throw me off track/ this is what i ended up having to do. we did wind shifts back in fsx days, this sim is what nearly 3 years old and its not fixed. wow, I've done hundreds of flights, but never had a shift cause something like that. December 24, 20232 yr V2 of this product is well worth it. Actually hitting turbulence during cruise at FL340 caused me to have to climb to FL360 to find smooth air. I have been running it along side of FSrealistic and they complement each other as FSrealistic only causes the camera in the flight deck to shake but doesn't do much when looking out the passenger window at the wings to see that coveted wingflex. No longer can you fly with the seatbelt sign off the entire flight. What I was afraid of is the turbulence being random and having nothing to do with real weather conditions. After trialing this for a couple of days It is not random at all. I highly recommend if you are someone who normally flies airliners and are not happy with the current turbulence effect in MSFS.

It's a violation of FAA regulations to go to the dentist while conducting a Part 121 flight. 😉 Ryzen 7 7800X3D/B650 X AX | 5090 | 32gig | Win10 | Pimax Crystal Light

December 27, 20232 yr If you’re looking for turbulence… https://turbli.com/maps/interactive-turbulence-map/
December 27, 20232 yr One thing that has struck me in the sim is the consistent rocking when low above trees, I fly irl and most of the places I fly in and out of involve low approaches over trees (in a lightweight aircraft) so I do have some idea of the resulting rotor and windshear that can be present, it can sometimes be quite alarming but its usually a case of oh word not allowed..followed by a calmish bit then perhaps something in between the 2..etc etc The sim version seems rather too uniform and continuous to me, although to be fair its the best attempt I've experienced in a flight sim

December 28, 20232 yr I picked this up pretty much just because of this thread and being the holidays I felt like picking up an enhancement product for MSFS. Still figuring it out but its pretty much 100% automated. Just install and forget about it. Currently doing a flight in the Fenix MD-83 from SEA-LAS. Taking off from SEA I definitely was getting knocked around a bit more than what happens with just the default turbulence settings which 99% of the time is non existent. Currently at cruise at FL290 and I am not experiencing any turbulence currently. However in learning the new add on I accidentally clicked on it a Few times in the Windows Start bar so it shows 3 active Real Turb v2's open. Not sure if this basically cancels out everything or not? Usually in real life on approach into LAS you always get knocked around a bit. Especially when flying near the mountains so we shall see in about an hour? One thing I turned off in an INI file is the turbulence noise it makes. It is very loud and I don't think it was all that realistic. In another review it was mentioned as being loud and sounding like a car crash and I can agree with that statement. So again I turned it off. It mentioned in this review that it plays nicely with FSRealistic so I may have to add that soon! Right now the jury is still out but I liked the turbulence affect climbing out of SEA. It was not that generic chop but something very different and I had to actually grab my joystick to keep the plane on course. In a future update of the product I would like the option to turn it off and it would be nice to adjust the volume of the affects etc. Also maybe the option to adjust the severity of the turbulence and turn on and off different types of turbulence. Okay...just as I finished typing this I am getting my @ss handed to me over central Oregon. Except for the sound it makes (which I turned off). Enough so that I am going to climb to FL330 and hopefully clear it!

December 28, 20232 yr Same as everyone else, great addon coupled with FSRealistic with the Turb sounds off. Really fun choppy flight from Iceland to the Faroes just now
