May 18, 20242 yr For me 12.10 beta 1 was absolutely beautiful, and for the first time with XP12, I could fly it in VR. Before this beta VR shimmered too much, the screens were shakey, and the settings had to be so low to get descent frames. With Beta 1, everything was cleaned up, and I could have my setting about where I wanted them, and the sim was very smooth. With Beta 2, I can't fly in VR at all. The left and right eyes don't line up at all. The right eye moves with my head as it should, and the left eye really lags behind, and never lines up. 32GB DDR4 3200Mhz i7-9700K RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6
May 18, 20242 yr A lot of changes under the hood. But the cloud rendering and cloud types/variations has hardly improved. I still have to rate the clouds an F (Fail). The clouds in 11 were billboards but with the mods were made to look reasonable. I am not too impressed with 12.1 cloud rendering. They need Urgent and Major improvement. May 18, 20242 yr Oh laminar, when are you going to fix your users, 12.1.0B2 and they're still broken, Come on, all the extra staff and still you cant fix them, no matter what good you do, the always find the bad stuff, Really id like to see a new release of users who actually appreciate all the effort put in, that cant be too hard?? But we do speak of people. 😁

Earth to Austin, do Something! After some testing, it doesn't appear to be a problem with the beta. I installed another copy and updated it to 12.10b2, and it is working just fine, so I guess I have an addon conflict or a corrupt file somewhere. beta2 sure looking good in VR with my new install. 32GB DDR4 3200Mhz i7-9700K RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6

Earth to Austin, do Something! They somehow need more contrast and/or "structure" imo. And there are still these transparent clouds having grey lines behind that make them appearing unnatural. As far as I know this should be adressed with the incoming overall lightning-improvements. I really hope. i9 12900k, RTX 3090, 32GB RAM

May 18, 20242 yr The cloud + light rendering looks like a washed out white mush. It ruins everything It's this kind of cloud structure that I like and this luminosity
May 18, 20242 yr I think having the bloom effect is a big plus and if well done it can increase realism. There's a reflective metal object outside my house, and in the right lighting conditions the effect I get in real life is exactly the same as the one modeled in video games which have a well simulated bloom effect. In the case of X-Plane, at the moment it is possibly too "smeared out" over the entire scene. The effect I am talking about instead, is more concentrated on reflective surfaces (e.g. water bodies, metal surfaces, etc.). I think there's plenty of room to improve the effect in subsequent releases. "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".
